Padding it with match of the day stuff? Ridiculous! We know he's on match of the day and some of us don't watch it! BBC need to take control of this programme. Dangerous to leave the celeb lead it cos some are so boring. Lucky good old Alan Shearer was there cos the other people didn't seem too bothered when Linekar turned up!

They obviously don't have enough interesting info to fill up an hour so we get match of the day!

I can't believe Michael Parkinsons family history was even duller than this one. It couldn't possibly be as dull as this one.

I hear he has a lot to thank Mr Clifford, and well paid lawyers for ...
That's exactly what I was told. I do hope Mr. Clifford has a Mr. Clifford of his own now that he is somewhat hors de combat

How has his fame hungry wife not stuck her fizzog into it yet?

And there are lots of interesting stories about Gary, if rumours are to be believed ....
My best friends children go to the same school as his and she told me quite a few stories from the school gate Mums a few years ago (before he left his wife or she left him?) Serial adulterer back then!

I fell like I've aged 10 years watching this episode. Even my computer is slowing down.

I have always enjoyed this programme, but not tonight. Gary seems to think it's funny that his ancestor turned to poaching.

When it was pointed out that this man had no education, the cottage industry he worked in had crashed and there was no welfare state, he still seemed amused.

He stole to feed his family, people were starving in those days. Meanwhile the landowners and fat cats of the day got fatter and richer at the expense of the poor.
Even after being told how hard times were, he still described the poor man as a comical character. Pathetic. I turned off.

This episode is so dull an ad break would be a blessed relief

what a pity the programme isn't about the last few years of Gary's life. Just think of all the wonderful personalities. Mrs. Lineker the 1st, then the 2nd, probably posing in her underwear, and all the lovely ladies in between. Who Were They? would be a good title. Then there's his son who got his father to say he'd failed the exams because of poor teaching (everybody else had of course passed). Yes, present day Lineker much more interesting than this sanitised dull story

He sounds like a complete turd. I'm so glad I didn't bother watching it. I don't need to see his face for an hour. Two seconds is enough when the titles roll.

I think the guy lacks any imagination. Either that or he only identifies with the fat cats. Still, at least he didn't say 'Let them eat crisps.'

Gary has a charming brother apparently as well, I've seen one place in Blackpool.

I've got a new Walkers crisps flavour "Boredom & Yawning", or how about "Philandering & Litigation"

What a completely pointless episode. Surely they could have found someone with a more interesting story than this.
