Colouring buttercream pink ?
I'm trying to make pink buttercream, but I'm just getting a Salmon pink, instead of what I want, which is a 'girly' pink.
If I carry on putting more red food colouring in, will it affect the taste ? |

No it wont affect the taste but it wont make the icing pink.
I had this problem several years back when I ended up with icing the colour of blood ![]() If you want pink icing you have to buy the "pink" colouring specially

Andy are you using liquid or concentrated gel colour? Because the latter is much, much better. But still, if you want pink you need to use pink rather than red, and if you use the concentrated stuff it'll give you a truer colour.

I'm using the liquid. Money is very tight and that's what I could afford

Have you tried beetroot or pomegranite juice/colouring?
