Macklemore - Same Love (future smash hit?)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlVBg7_08n0
Currently #160 on iTunes but it's been in the US top ten for a few weeks now and it's already been #1 in Australia and New Zealand. I can't see Capital risking playing it considering their demographic probably aren't as supportive of gay rights as a Radio 1/Heart audience but I hope this becomes a huge hit. Beautiful song. |

Think capital have a pretty big gay following/support record. At Least I know capital Yorkshire do - they hosted both hull pride this year and Leeds pride last year!
Good song tho, hope it goes mainstream and sends a positive message out!! |

I do love the song, I am a bit Macklemore fan so want him to do well. But I will hate the bandwagon jumper DJs on Radio 1 and the likes.

Think it'll peak low top 10. Its not getting promoted till September which is a bit late (normally we get hits before the Americans)
Nice song, good message but prefer Thrift Shop and the outstanding Can't Hold Us. I do think it will help Macklemore/Ryan Lewis sell albums though as they have been disappointing. |

Capital will probably play it I think. Their audience is a similar age to Radio 1 (average age 30-something) and mostly female.

What? With American music?? We certainly don't. Maybe with our own stuff or Europe, but not American, not at all.

Even with American songs it happens often. Blurred Lines, for example, was a hit in most of Europe before it took off in the US.

Still released in March in the US.
release dates don't mean much, since a song can be released and do nothing for ages. For example Can't Hold Us was released in 2011, but it only became a hit in 2013. |
