Anyone with a 2012/13 LG Smart TV/Blu Ray can become a beta tester for Now TV.

In exchange for feedback they're offering, for free, two one day Sky Sports passes and two months access to Sky Movies.

Ditto. I also ordered on Tuesday and had an email from NOW timed at 18:19 on Wed 31 Jul saying "Everything’s been packaged up and your order has left the building with Royal Mail".

Earlier this afternoon Friday 2 Aug, the Royal Mail tracking site was still saying "Please come back later. We have been notified that your item is being shipped by the retailer; the next scan will appear when we receive this item."

A few minutes ago the tracking page says "It's on its way. Item FJ84442****GB arrived at National Distribution Centre on the 2013-08-02 and we are currently processing it."

Fingers crossed for the postman's knock tomorrow.

Mine arrived this morning. Just set it up. It was easy to set up. Picture quality is good. It looks like it's probably 720p. Up close it doesn't look as good but from my usually viewing distance it's fine.

BBC iplayer plays in HD.

Movies are definitely 720p.

I've turned auto renew off and cancelled the movies thing too, will I still be charged the £8.99, because I want to keep it should I fancy a Sky Sports Day Pass one day?

Overall very good service, would highly recommend it to those on a budget.

Been playing about with this some more and I'm really impressed. Between this, my Apple TV and wii I think I'm sorted. Probably won't bother with the chromecast or upgrading my Apple TV now.

If you can notice the added cost on your electricity bill, then you really need to be on a different plan. I done a power test with mine and it draws so little power in standby that my meter can't register it.

I did not get a manual, just "Terms and Conditions" info.

Fair enough then. There should have been a small, blue booklet, the same size as the terms and conditions called "Let's Get Started".

Inside it explains the off-switch.

There isn't one.

You leave it alone, it switches to a very low power mode (standby).

Ok, thanks for the info, my blue booklet was missing so I just switched on and followed the instructions.

Got one of these last week and its superb!

Side loaded Plex onto it via the Dev interface, installed the IceFilms plugin on the computer and now streaming films

If anyone needs a breakout cable for a non HD telly, just ring them up and they send one free

Ok, I've got a review up at Eye on-Demand. The review mainly looks at the box for a non UK-perspective, but it covers all the basics, including a link to an updated BBC iPlayer review I done earlier (discussing that app on the Now TV in more detail)

American expats reading this may be interested to know the USTVNow app also works well, delivering high quality live streams of the main, authentic OTA US television channels such as ABC, NBC, CBS, The CW etc.

It is a pretty cool box!

Probably a silly question but are any shops selling this?
