Pretty good deal for any Now TV subscribers and maybe, if the other features can be used without subscription, users of various catch-up and streaming services.

I've picked up two in the hopes that it's identical hardware to the Roku 2 XS and i can somehow finagle the Roku firmware onto it.”

We received our box towards the end of last week.

We then signed up to the 30 day movies trial. Since then we have watched four or five films.

As far as i'm concerned, the box has already paid for itself.

In terms of functionality - It is a shame the BBC Channels do not allow live streaming but that is a minor issue for us, it is hooking up to a system including tivo so we're not missing anything.

The offering is particularly good in terms of content and picture/sound quality.

We have a 60mb connection and are subject to traffic management if we use more than 3.5gb in an hour. Not sure if we hit the trigger but even if we had we'd still have enough bandwidth to watch on multiple devices, use the net and download any files we want.

Considering ordering a second box for one of the bedrooms - you can run upto four devices (two at the same time) on the account which means it is even better value for money.

Highly recommended. As it stands - buying at least one even if only used for movies for the 30 day free trial is a no-brainer.

Shame no Netflix, Lovefilm, ITV Player and 4oD else the box would be quite useful to hook up to a 'standard' digital TV.

I agree about 4oD. Don't really watch ITV so not fussed about that.

Expect Neflix and Lovefilm not to be present given it is heavily subsidised to drive up business for NowTV.

I think it has enough features to justify it without those things.

I have to imagine Sky are now leaning on ITV and Channel 4 a bit to make Roku Channels for ITV Player and 4OD so they can deploy them to the Now TV Box Roku Channel Store

I noticed Netflix is available on Roku's own version so that concurs that Sky is excluding what they see as competitors (understandably).
