Wakefield show
As promised here are my views of the show in Wakefield – I had a wonderful time. The show is fabulous, as others have said, and is even better this year and has stepped up from the last two tours. The costumes are lovely (Katya’s in particular) and the routines are wonderful. Very difficult to say which was my favourite as they were all brilliant but the waltz, Tango, Paso Doble and ballroom medley are probably my favourites.
Loved the fact that there were 6 dancers this year – it works well and I didn’t miss Lindsay from the previous tours at all.
Q and A session was interesting:
Q – One lady asked would Pasha join her and her friends on her hen do this weekend? She offered to massage his shoulders and back and they would look after him!
A - Katya asked how much are were they going to pay and Pasha said he would pay her if they did that! A lot of laugher all round.
Q – How many calories do you use during a show – Katya said she and Pasha use about 1500 – the other dancers about 600! Again a lot of laugher and Mike said the other dancers were leaving!
Q – Who do you think should replace Brucie?
A – Both said Anton du Beck, although both said Bruce was irreplaceable but thought Anton would be ideal. Katya said Bruce likes to get someone on the dance floor in the warm up to the show so Anton would be ideal. Pasha said they would need more lead-in time if Anton was the replacement as he would want to dance with all the ladies in the audience!
There was also a question about injuries where Katya said she had broken her finger previously and it hadn’t healed straight and showed her finger to the audience to which Pasha said she just wanted to show off her rings! And Pasha’s shoulder injury was mentioned.
I particularly enjoyed the VT about the photo shoot they did for the programme – found it interesting and Pasha and Katya looked liked they had fun shooting it and seemed completely at ease with each other.
The only negative thing about the evening was the dance school performances. I personally thought it went on too long and the older dancers looked bored and the younger dancers didn’t seem to know what they were doing. But that is only my opinion.
Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to stay for the meet and greet but will do so when I see the show again in June.
The audience seemed to love the show from the start and were very appreciative of all the dancers. All in all a fabulous show and can’t wait to see it again!
