Some predictable pairings and a few interesting ones too, though some reactions OTT, prefer the likes of Nat's genuine and graceful acceptance whoever she is partnered with.
Like the pairing of Pasha and Carol and can only hope she works hard, tries her best and enjoys the Strictly experience (she bound to with Pasha.) Can't ask for much more. Good luck to them.

Was really pleased to see Pasha and Caroline dance together again
- loved their costumes - but didn't think the dance flowed as well as when it was originally danced.

Carol & Pasha could do quite well together. They're both lovely people
so I imagine they'll get on well, have fun and be a popular pair.

Carol will be in very good hands with Pasha - she seems short on confidence, not surprising as it's a very strong female group this year, and Pasha is so nurturing of his celebs. I do hope she can relax and enjoy the training and stay in for a few weeks at least to learn some of the dances. She does seem to have a loyal fan base, so good luck to them both!

Hope, more than anything, she enjoys the Strictly experience and finds some confidence from somewhere.
She's been a fan of the show since Series 1 and like others taking part deserves a chance, not ridicule (though happens every series.) No wonder so many have left these forums.
Looking forward to having Pasha back on my screen for sure.
BTW think Oti is a great addition, don't mind the new guys either, but she has come across the best so far.

Couldn't watch the show live last night, but have caught up on some of the dances. Carol tried, but everything is so new to her. Loved their outfits and Anita looked great and did well. She certainly seems to have natural ability and could be the dark horse as some have predicted. That will please all the Gleb fans (will he be guaranteed a tour place with or without Anita, quite possibly) though think the constant gushing by Tess and Claudia needs to settle down. Have said before he's gorgeous, though think he knows it. Besides, he is married to a beautiful lady and although we can all drool, myself included, hope this isn't going to happen every time he is mentioned or shown.
Liked JJ's commentary and didn't think I would ever say this, but in many ways, it's a pity he isn't a judge on the show. At least he's unbiased (naturally he wants Ola to do well, but he has given constructive criticism to her celebs before) and can't see James being swayed/manipulated by anyone, including TPTB.
Anyway, Carol seemed to enjoy being on the show even if nerves did take over. Hardly surprising when she's the only older female (to me, fifty plus comes into that category, not someone in their forties) and the gap between her and the other females - whether experienced in dance or naturally able - shows.
Just hope she hasn't been 'set up' given how much she loves the show as don't recall a year (since I've been watching anyway) whereby there is only one older female against the young/younger ones who ALL seem to be good. At least VF had Rachel that year and although the latter was/is young and pretty, she wasn't a dancer. Suppose that could be different now.
I have read Carol has the foxtrot next week. Isn't that the more technical of Ballroom dances? Why couldn't she have been given a gentle waltz as that's the Ballroom others have this week and that's with three weeks training, not three or four days. I don't know, something just doesn't sit right, but only my thoughts.
Some think Daniel could go very far in the competition such is his fanbase, that would upset things if it happened. He does seems a lovely man, did better than expected with his waltz, Len seemed impressed. However, he will need to crank up the speed for the Latin. They only get a minute and a half after all.
It will be interesting to see who can tour and who CRH chooses. Seems unusual and rather early for him to have already chosen a couple when the show has barely started - an article with Kristina saying she's in and looking forward to dancing with Daniel some more.
Whatever happens on the show, happens. Only one couple will triumph in what certainly seems like a strong and competitive series.
Really hope Carol does enjoy her time on Strictly first and foremost, she's extremely lucky with Pasha. Hope we get to see him in quite a few of the pro dances (not the same ones at the front week in, week out. One of the pros commented about how they were always at the back, things need to be fairer in that respect, hope JG finally takes this on board) and I'm already thinking ahead to the Christmas Special, so hoping Pasha's included. Well, he won't be on the SCD tour so need something to look forward to until his own tour.

Must get a copy of the new version of Pasha's book. Do wonder if James will write his autobiography once Ola leaves the show. I kinda hope so as that would be an interesting read.

Read your post and pretty much agree with most of it so no point repeating! I've read in other forums that Carol isn't an entertaining enough 'duffer' (aw!) to stay in the competition for long. However she is much better than previous years' contestants she is being compared with, and as James Jordan tweeted, I really was willing her on. Also I'm glad Pasha hasn't tried to turn her into the comedy act, I never thought that he would anyway. He seems to want to make it fun for her but give her a proper dance to do too. Aaaahhhh...

James Jordan would make a very blunt, but I imagine, very fair judge. For a long time I've thought there should be one of the former pro dancers from the show on the judging panel. Doubt the BBC would ever choose James though, more likely Karen Hardy or Ian Waite perhaps. But wouldn't an autobiography be fascinating?!

Oh yes, an autobiography by James would be both fascinating and an eye opener. Hope it happens at some point. His comments on Twitter are usually accurate as far as the show is concerned.
We all know that the older celebs tend to have an early exit, unless you're paired with ADB then you can last weeks. Think a lot is due to his involvement in the show since the beginning and along with BC they are the most well known, but only my opinion. He is very funny as well and seems to look after his partners irrespective of whether they can dance or not.
However, he has a real chance this year and if he were to make the final which is very possible given his fanbase and Katie's ability, then I will be so pleased for him.
Agree about Carol, she is much better than Anne, Nancy, Judy all put together! That's only for the female celebs as there have been some dreadful male ones as well.
Nothing against those past celebs, but to compare Carol to them...
Besides, I do find it quite insulting that some harp on about age. Its as if you're older you can't dance, but if younger you can. Well, I know plenty of older people who can dance and would put some younger ones to shame.
As for being a comedy contestant, am glad they haven't gone down that route as it only lasts for so long and once the DOs kick in and good ones leave first, the knives will come out. If it's JV that's being thought of as the comedy act then I didn't think his routine was either good or entertaining, but each to their own. He seemed to enjoy it so that's all that matters.
Already some strange marking and it will only get worse when the voting figures are known by producers. There's going to be some cracking DOs this series.
I don't think Carol needs anyone to tell her that her time on Strictly will be short and sweet, just feel for her in some ways, but as long as she's happy taking part. Besides having watched since Series 1 she will know the score.

I tend to take each week as it comes as you never know what could happen, but I would really like them to get to Movie week, it's so close. Not sure it will happen no matter how hard Pasha's fans vote and there's certainly plenty of us. Hope she enjoys her few days of foxtrot training. Wonder who actually chooses when the couples do each dance, pros don't seem to get a say in much these days. Too many props being used already, can't we just have pure dancing and only props in say, themed weeks? Oh and can the audience please calm down. Apart from that...
Great pro dance. Good that each couple had a little segment, that way we seem them ALL and not just the ones who are far in with JG. (I used to think he was fair.)
If you read this GG, glad Daniel did better than many thought and hopefully Tristan (really like him) will be around for a while, though wish he was paired with someone else even though she can clearly dance.
I see a poster with inside info and who always has good things to say (or at least so far) about Pasha and Janette is back. Am glad as those two pros seems to get bashed more than most, though a few others have had their fair share, yet some go unscathed. Double standards.

Thought their VW was lovely and was undermarked, though the scores, in general, sometimes are all over the shop. Have to say I look forward to Jay and Aliona's dances as well as our two and if Aliona should be the first pro to win twice, good on her. The fact Jay is a fantastic dancer is only part of the reason, the fact he is endearing and down-to-earth is a big plus for me. Think Anita is very good and hope it is all natural ability. Barring a disaster, can see Jay and Anita in the final.
Anyway, well done to our two on getting through to Halloween week. I think Carol is improving and it can't be easy when you're up against so many who aren't new to dancing (doesn't bother me who has experience so long as they're honest about it from the start, a mix is good. However, this year more than half of the cast have training/experience so makes it more obvious who needs to catch-up, but can they? Doubtful.)
Think Bruno was unnecessarily harsh last night and good on CRH for standing up for Carol, though pot and kettle sometimes.
Carol certainly seems to be enjoying this Strictly experience and I'm glad. Pasha looks after her and I think they have a good partnership going, relaxed with each other. Loved some of their interviews I have read. (Didn't realise that like Jay, she is carrying an injury or more specifically an eye problem, hope she will be ok.)
Have to say good on Carol and them all, but especially the novices for giving the dances a go, as I certainly wouldn't want to go out and dance knowing millions were watching and scrutinising/criticising my every move.
Whatever happens now, she has done herself and Pasha proud and yes gone further on the show than I initially thought.
Not sure about some of the pro routines of late, can't we have just proper Ballroom or Latin even now and again.

Lovely to hear from you Shona. It so nice that we still have our Pash and Carol. He is such a wonderful partner for her, and is making this experience very special. Absolutely loved that song they were dancing to (if I were to be completely honest, I would love to see him dance that with someone of greater ability. Could have been stunning!!)

I don't really have any firm favourites this year, but am really enjoying Anita and Gleb. (Love the choreography - different!!) Jay is, of course, brilliant. I'd be amazed if he doesn't win it!! He's a brilliant dancer, got the vulnerability factor, just the right combination to attract the public vote. Mind you, anything can happen. It's early days yet. Not sure how popular the other contenders are.......we will see as the weeks go on. Each week I hope Jamelia can shine.......Tristan is from my neck of the woods......... but apart from last week, it hasn't happened. Disappointing .

You mentioned Daniel O'Donnell earlier.....................he was a revelation to me. Can't stand his style of music and thought he was virtually brain dead initially. Well, I have to say he grew on me big time. He was a lot more droll than I expected and his interviews on IT2 surprised me. I was actually sorry to see him go!!!! I think Kristina did a great job with him. Mind you, he was interviewed recently and said he was more or less relieved to be going home. Think he had enough!!!!

Looking forward to Halloween weekend, hope the music choices are better. Haven't loved a lot of them so far. I think Jeremy has already done Lurch!!!
