West Yorkshire. Like it for the following reasons:-
1. Not too far from stunning countryside regardless of whichever direction you travel from;
2. One of the cheapest parts of the country to live in;
3. Friendly locals
Cambridgeshire. I like it because parts of it are quite rural, it's nice and easy to drive around, there's pretty good public transport and the city (Cambridge) is amazing. Beautiful buildings, beautiful atmosphere, the only downside is all the students and tourists. But you can't win 'em all!
I have lived in Derbyshire (which I liked because it was rural) and Cornwall (which I liked for all the beaches) but I'd choose to live in Cambridgeshire out of the three, it's so pretty here.

'Tis a strange place. Lots of pretty villages that are nice for a visit but dull as ditchwater to live in, difficult commuting on public transport, boring countryside...
I prefer other places, though admittedly it's nice and civilised compared to some places

We WOULD like the parts of Cumbria which were (and still are if you accept that the county reorganisation was administrative only) back in Mighty Lancashire!!”
And Manchester and Southport. Erm. Not sure about Liverpool.
