Hazel is strong. This does not equate to a lack of empathy. She has repeatedly demonstrated empathy through her closeness with her other housemates. Gina, on the other hand, positively revels in others discomfort; that's a lack of empathy. Her face and immediate response when Jackie came back in with a cast on her arm was a vision.

I found it very strange she's very cold.

Hazel seems to be playing up to the old stereotype of men, back in the day. When men were cads who never showed emotion, but did mess around with others emotionally and physically.

She chased Daley like he was prey, and she likes strong men. Once she gets under their skin, she seems to want to take them down.

She doesn't get on well with women. She couldn't even give Charlie a hug the other day, when Charlie even asked for one after trying to offer her comfort. Instead, Hazel hugged Dan.

She hates showing emotion. She hates that people will ask about it. INSTEAD, she stirs, bitches and backstabs. She goads others, especially when there's booze involved, and then she plays the victim. As I said in another thread, maybe by inflicting pain on others, she gets some kind of release for all that pent up rage or something. Her behaviour is hideous, whatever the reasons for it.

I never really understood the importance of Arthur Miller's The Crucible before. Then I read this and it all started to make sense.

She does cry when she feels sorry for herself

That's her most common emotion along with anger and self love

Deary me, that has an overpowering whiff of deception.

She gets on very well with women. She got on great with Jackie, she gets on great with Charlie - though how she puts up with her moaning foot in mouthedness is beyond me. She never seems to have an issue messing around with Sophie and the twins in the garden. She was the one who often comforted Wolfy.

WFT has Gina got to do with anything. You seem to have some strange obsession with her, that you mention her in every Hazel thread

My guess it has something to do with her parents separating and protecting herself from the hurt she felt at that time

She has displayed empathy for others. When Wolfy was upset about being labelled "Least Attractive" it was Hazel who went to the trouble of giving her a makeover to try and raise her spirits.

When one of the twins got upset that he had never had a partner, Hazel felt enough for him to tell him that it would all come in time etc.

The idea that she's incapable of feeling for other people is just nonsense. But then I don't think a lot of people are interested in having a more balanced perspective on Hazel.

Your opinion and the truth about Hazel are so different. She is none of those things. It goes to show how dislike affects people's perceptions.

No sadly they are loving ,hating her too much. It is the people slating her that lack empathy not Hazel.

To some, crying is a sign of weakness. For some reason Hazel doesn't like to show weakness and that is not up to me to speculate That does not mean she doesn't empathise with people. I find her a very strong woman, from what I've seen

I never cry, I prefer to process my emotions logically. I still feel pain etc. We are all different.

Because she has integrity and doesn't want to sell her soul for fake sympathy from the HMs or pity from a bunch of nobodies watching her on TV

She's in the show that I'm discussing. Would you look at that?

She is amazing, but people want to break her. But her spirit is indomitable.
The only thing that carves strength like that is pain and suffering.I reckon she has seen her fair share.

Yes this is true but I identify with Hazel on that front. All my tears are generally shed in private. Hazel is a survivor. Why should she be the stereotypical teary woman. In the industry she works she has had to grow a thick skin I imagine. From what I'm told it is quite vicious and catty. Breaking down at every criticism, fair or unfair, would not serve her well. She brings that strength to the house. She can give as good as she gets but she knows how to roll with the punches too.

She's a refreshing change from the false weeping and drama we so often see on BB

We all are speaking about what we know from what we've seen
As are you, and you do it a lot.

Laughing at that just demonstrates ( LOL and )
A) rudeness
B) lack of ability to remove bais from ones view.
That's what I think,

I don't need to know what you think further.

I think you mean empathise .... She has never shown any empathy that I can recall.
Remind me?

Strong? Not all all, she is hard yes, but that's not strength

Some have a hold over their emotions, and some don't. Some want you to know their whole life story, and sone don't. That is the variety that makes us all interesting in our own way. Showing emotion and crying can reveal a weakness at times but also not (depending on the situation), and the same can be said in reverse. Sometimes raising your voice and showing a physical/facial frustration can be seen as aggressive, but someone keeping cool, calm and saying less in a certain way and in a certain tone can be seen as passive aggressive. Things can be seen or interpreted in different ways.
