Charlie is a game player. Her family letter advised her to 'up her game'. End off, she knows exactly what she is doing when she 'accidently' drops a clanger.

But that's the defence she puts forward for the things she says, and what she hopes others will accept as an excuse for otherwise often hurtful or snidey remarks. Do you think she would prefer it if the HMs said she does think before she speaks?

Personally, I don't buy that line anyway. There's been too many instances now of her supposedly 'putting her foot in it', and always at someone else's expense. She seems like the archetypal passive-aggressive to me.

Someone on here noted that they didn't think she was deliberate in what she says because that would imply she was intelligent and a gameplayer. I don't think that necessarily has to be the case. I've known plenty of passive-aggressives in my time (as I'm sure most of us have) and, while they certainly know how to create a situation or make someone feel like shit, they're not particularly intelligent in other respects, and often there's not a 'strategy' involved either - just an immediate desire to turn the screw.

Yeah yeah yeah this is pretty much how I see it too.

What's the betting Jackie will be on the BBBOTS panel tonight, defending her wayward daughter.

I then thought back to the many times she has put her foot in it and cannot remember her ever saying "I'm really sorry", which might have diffused the situation quicker.

I know saying sorry is quite hard sometimes but I reckon Charlie needs to learn the word more than other people. Her mother perhaps could too.

That all said, I don't agree that she is doing all these faux pas on purpose, as a game plan. She's just got a muddled brain and cannot get her thought processes in a straight line before speaking. She needs to address this when she leaves the house or she will lose friends constantly. I don't dislike her though.

Imo, Callam is the most manipulative hm I've seen in ages and so calculating. He was goading Dex to slip up in their conversation tonight. His voice and tone are so insincere & I'm amazed so many viewers have been taken in by him. Cannot abide the man!

There you go, my first post in a year or so. Prefer lurking these days as way too sensitive to be shot down by the newer posters on DS. It has changed so much over last few years.”

lovely first post but you forgot a main factor - booze.
