Cat keeps peeing on my clothes !
Hey all,
This started ages ago but stopped but seems to have started again ! I live with my fiancé and 2 cats my oldest cat who is 15 keeps peeing on my clothes ! Due to her age we have had her checked for any medical issues and she very healthy , her litter tray is clean and she uses it all the time . Now what my main issue is its only my stuff she pees on , it was laundry day yesterday and as basket was full my fiancé clothes were in pile and she walked past that to get to my side and pee. Has anyone had this behaviour ? |

It sounds lie stress behaviour, but could also be a uti, it's worth checking with the vet and getting a sample if possible for them to analyse. Utis are really serious in cats so that's the first thing to check out.

it does sound stress behaviour to me. are there any new cats near by?
i have a stressy cat, she doesn't wee on things but she does over groom, i've been using a feliway plug in which does help a little, maybe its worth looking into. |

Thanks for replies . I used Feliway in past and not for last few months but got spray to try as I will await the refills .
I rang vet to double check was uti done and he checked and everything was fine I can't think of anything stress wise as tbh she not social with other cats even our other cat knows if she in mood so leaves her alone one thing is both her and younger cat has had fleas and are in middle of the treatments which she hates . She acts normal everywhere else eat and drink fine using litter tray and having a cwtch on sofa . My fiancé is not concerned but I think this is due to it not being his stuff lol |

my cat doesn't seem stressed either but last year she started over grooming until her tummy was bald, it started when my old cat cat got sick and continued after she died so we put it down to that, after a few months she stopped but in the last few weeks shes started again, nothing changed except our neighbour has a new cat...my cat doesnt go out so it shouldnt bother her but somethings set her off and the vet cant find anything else wrong,...i say she doesnt seem stressed but when i take her to the vets she goes from a loving black beauty to a wild panther, the vet has had to wear thick gloves before just to examine her...i guess if she does get stressed easily the flea treatment could have set her off.

May be she likes the smell of the laundry detergent on your clothes. Do you wear perfume? Sometimes the detergent and the lingering smell of perfume can be an attractive place for a cat to pee.
