Alfie is Shane and Shane is Alfie whichever way you look at it. It must be great to just be able to go to work, be yourself, put in zero effort and bank loads in the process! He's been a dead cert for a Christmas death some time for me but sadly they just won't get shot of him! Kat works brilliantly again without him, so please DTC have the sense and the courage to axe him. There's nothing left for Alfie other than his obligatory festive faulty goods storyline  Maybe he could be tragically electrocuted by a set of faulty fairy lights!

It would be extremely pleasurable to see Alfie not only lose Roxy but also his job to the woman who abducted the child that doesn't even belong to him. The way he has treated Ronnie like some sort of monster since her return is unfair, I would like to see him suffer for making Roxy choose and not accepting that Ronnie has learnt from her mistakes and served her time. Just get him out!”

David may be ok but I'd rather he stay well clear, Carol would be so dull behind the bar.

Sticking with Ronnie and Roxy, I would prefer Peggy but she will not came back full time, I'm big on the Mitchell's during my viewing days and if the day comes where the Mitchell's would lose the Vic it would be a sad day for me, even more so if Phil lost ownership.

I agree!!!!!! It's time for a change

Mitchells make the Vic more dramatic. I'd be open for new characters but only if they are given a decent story arc which will make the Vic the heart of the square again

Yes, Carol is dull at home, with the kids, in the caff, she was in the launderette, but I think that would change IF she was paired up with David and IF they were to run the Vic. I hope DTC has some interesting new ideas anyway that will breathe life into the show and it's neglected characters.

Alfie should be out the Vic and single if there is anyway of the character being redeemed. He was good to watch when he was a small time con artist when he first entered, but he seems to be an entirely different person now. I no longer see Alfie Moon, I just see Shane Ritchie.

Probably DS rumour.

The Moons only worked when it was Del Boy, Rodney and Grandad (Alfie, Spencer and Nana). Since Nana died the Moons haven't worked IMO.

Alfie had the perfect exit in 2005 and should never have come back. It's ruined his original spell on the show.

Sharon can manage, three major characters front of house would provide plenty of nostalgia for diehards and a new dynamic force behind the bar..”

Yeah, I hearts David and Carol, but not sure they'd work in The Vic. It would be interesting to see what it would be like, because I honestly have no idea! However, I'm not sure either are suited to it together or separately. I do however, thoroughly agree that Carol is criminally underused, just not sure shoving her behind the bar of the Vic would change that.

Yeah, I agree vald. I know they don't for a lot of people, but Alfie and Kat together behind the bar just works for me. I like her on the stall with Bianca too though. I like Kirsty as a character, I think her temperament and attitude is quite unique on the show, I just don't think she works that well as a Vic barmaid.

Kirsty is a lot like most of the barmaids I've met so I think she's doing just fine!

I just get this feeling that Shane Richie is not a very nice person in real life.

It would be great if they could just axe Alfie once and for all.

They need more family to be with Alfie if they won't take him out of the Vic. I think it's time they brought back Jake Moon, or failing that Spencer Moon. I thought Jake was an interesting character, and had depth. Spencer was just a family relation, but again it would inject some life in to Alfie's character again, and remind viewers of the past.

I HATE Roxy with Alfie in the Vic, and I really hope she will be out of there asap! She belongs with Ronnie, not Alfie.

I also want to see the Vic given another makeover. I don't mind the colour scheme, but I hate the lamps and nick-naks and that horrible lime green bar and zebra-print stools!

I want the Vic to look a bit more classic and to have a bigger touch on the original Vic. I want the lamp shades to go around the pub, as I don't think they are classic enough for the pub. The older lamp shades that the Vic had pre-fire in 2010 were classic. The ones they have now are simply paper/ fabric.

I have to agree - he was great as head barman, but this return really hasn't worked. The Vic has been nothing special at all since Kat & Alfie returned - and it was built up to be so symbolic in the years before. Ultimately, they came back for a big storyline, which wasn't popular ad was pulled early; and uts eventual replacement (the shagger storyline, so hyped by cast & producer) was awful. Alfie's a spent character, sad to say.

The Moon's are finished and Alfie is the last one left as I regard Kat as a Slater.

Richie said he would leave if they took him out the vic, yeah that would be what I would do if I was a big wig in Eastenders an actor is not bigger than the show who the hell does he think he is? He's not even a good actor and he wears more makeup than some of the ladies.

I want Ronnie and Roxy to run the Vic. I've had enough of Alfie. He should go soon.

I wouldn't put Sharon in the Vic yet because she's already been ruined. I would like her back in the Vic when she's being treated better by TPTB.

If Alfie and Roxy break up, will Alfie chuck out Roxy? Is Roxy in charge of the Vic or is Alfie?

But sadly, it looks like Alfie won't be leaving the Vic anytime soon

Shane Richie allegedly quit last time because they removed Alfie from the Vic, he also allegedly complained about being out on the market, particularly on cold mornings. Nobody knows how much truth is in this, but even if Shane Richie threatens to quit again if they take Alfie out of the Vic, so be it. No character or actor is bigger than the show and the Vic has suffered under the Moons this time.

Here is a 2006 interview from Shane Richie. He spoke about how Alfie deserved to stay in the Vic and when Alfie left the Vic, he decided to jump ship.

Shane has a massive ego it seems.

DTC needs to reign that in.

It's definitely time for him go. He's a spent force and the Vic needs a new lease of life!

The same problem exists in Corrie. The Rovers no longer has the buzz or vibe that it used to. It's probably a combination of the smoking ban and recession. You could say that EE and Corrie are reflecting reality well with this with pubs feeling like just another set and not a focal point.
