He really needs to go. The Vic lost all its life when Kat and Alfie took over. Alfie is one of the most irritating characters and the sooner he is taken out of the Vic the better.
A new family behind the bar is a risky move and the family has to be well thought out and played by very good actors. Look what a disaster the Moons were. I wouldn’t put Sharon back in the Vic as she is so disconnected in Walford and can hardly be the heart of the community. I think the Mitchells work in the Vic and at the moment Ronnie and Roxy are the best option. I can however see that they won’t take Alfie out of the Vic and once they reunite him with Kat which will probably be by Christmas this year they will leave them run the Vic. Which is a real shame. I totally agree about the décor. It is awful. I hope they will change it back to how it was. Those leopard print stools are ghastly. There is a big problem with the sets in EE. I don’t see why the Vic needs a kitchen set when the set can be used for something else. Also the gym is a waste of space and they would be better off using that space to sort out the R&R set instead. It used to be such a good set but now is really small, you can hardly move there which lessens all impact of any scenes they film there. Max’s living room is bigger than R&R. I preferred it how it was when Ronnie and Jack were running it back in 2007. Let’s hope DTC will also look at changing and utilizing the sets better. |

Ronnie and David would work quite well. David employed in the "manager" style role with Ronnie and Roxy as the Mitchell "representation". If Kirsty splits from Max or at least if she has more to smile about, can stay on as barmaid

Here is a 2006 interview from Shane Richie. He spoke about how Alfie deserved to stay in the Vic and when Alfie left the Vic, he decided to jump ship.
Source: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/inter...ne-richie.html Also, can we just go ahead and clear up that little rumour about EE not taking him out of the Vic because he's told them he will quit again if they do. I have read that over and over and over on DS, yet no one seems to have the source. Interesting, that. Now, having said all that...I couldn't possibly care less who is in the Vic. Honestly, as if the show lives or dies on which character stands behind the bar. |

Alfie needs not only to get out of the Vic, but out of Walford completely. Maybe then Kat could become a decent character again (bring back Anthony Trueman, I say)
As for who would take over the Vic, I would say Ronnie and Roxy. |

I think the best option is now Ronnie and Roxy.Sharon returning back isn't going to magically jumpstart her character. She needs to build existing relationships in the Square first.

The Mitchells losing the pub, with the expulsion of Alfie is going to happen I think. I think a shake up is badly needed at the Vic. I never rated him much behind the bar, and a lot of the time lately the Vic has been neglected. I'm sorry but Fatboy should never be the sole person behind the bar. It's just wrong!

The Moons are now a spent force in Walford.

I think taking the Moons out the Vic would do not only the Vic but them the world of good as well, the Vic needs a family in there and a mix of characters, soon enough it will just be Kat and Alfie once they are back together, I would like a new family to move in but thats unlikely so I would go with the Mitchells...Ronnie and Roxy running the show, perhaps if Babs comes back then Peggy but not as landlady and with Kirsty and of course Tracey staying on as barmaids. With the Moons out the Vic then Kat can stay on the stall with Bianca which works really well and Alfie I would like to see go back to the dark side, we know he isn't innocent so seeing him work for the likes of Carl or Phil wouldn't be totally ridiculous and send Alfie in a whole new darker direction. My feeling is DTC will make a change.

Alfie was once magic behind the bar. Those days are gone.
I do think a new family is the way to go. That place needs a new lease of life. |
