Coronation Street killer Karl Munro will kidnap Stella Price and Dev Alahan in an upcoming storyline.

The Weatherfield murderer, played by John Michie, takes desperate measures after his secrets are exposed and goes back to the scene of his crime, the Rovers cellar, for his next plot.

According to the Daily Star, Stella (Michelle Collins) is shocked after finding out about Karl and Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) realises Karl killed his wife Sunita.

After Karl takes them both hostage, Stella screams at him: "Come on Karl, he (Dev) might be dying." However, Karl's only worry is that Stella will leave him.

Stella tries to talk Karl out of harming her and Dev, saying: "I know the sacrifices you made. This is all a mess. The question is, how do we clear it up?"

Karl actor Michie recently confirmed that his character won't be killed off, saying that he could return after his upcoming exit.

The star is expected to bow out on screen in September.

Another recycled story line. SB needs to do something different.

This dialogue cant be real surely. Is that realy what Stella would say after finding out Carl started the fire almost burning her to death and then murdered Sunita. I know she is thick but surely not THAT thick.

People say anything to free themselves, get him on side and then leg it shouting "HELP!" at the top of your voice

Corrie takes one step forward, three steps back, again.

Its a ridiculous plot and the waste of a good character. Karl had the potential to be a good old fashioned, classic corrie bloke - bone idle and womanizing like Jack Duckworth in his Vince Sinclair days.

Oh give it a chance for gods sake, it actually sounds interesting and i honestly wasnt expecting this outcome
It doesnt sound anything like John Stape's plot apart from the kidnap

Agreed, and let's face it - there are only so many ways a sl like this can end, dramatically speaking.

Can you imagine if the whole sl culminated in a 2 minute scene of Karl walking into the cop shop and confessing all? Talk about a damp squib.:sleep:

It should have ended with Karl slipping over in the shower. No one would see that coming

At least he isn't getting killed off, hopefully he receives help and is released in a few years. As long as they don't do a Tony Gordon that is.

Its highly unlikely given that he straight on to do another tv show after corrie.
I actually hope he doesnt return, not only because he is an awful actor, but that this storyline has run its course and him returning would just plain tedious

Now come on, if he hasn't got the insight to make the scenes stop going around in circles, what chance has he got of having enough imagination to stop the actual plots from doing so?

St Stella took Karl back after barring him from the pub which was a whole new level of thickness.

Actually, it does sound like something she would say. Stella seems to break up syllables for emphasis:

I know the sacrifices you made.

This is all a mess.

The question is

How do we

clear it up?

I think Stella is being placatory. Remember the time Karl locked her in the cab and drove off. Also she did have feelings for him once so she must feel very conflicted.

I don't think it's thick. Remember that Stella had no idea Karl started the Rovers fire or set fire to Jason's van. As far as she was concerned he rushed into a burning building with the intention of saving her life. Yes I know it was Paul who got her out in the end but Paul might have got there too late if Karl hadn't gone in himself. Of course Stella found herself bonding with Karl again - it's understandable in that situation.

I think Stella will work out that he didn't know she was in the pub when he lit the fire which he didn't. As far as he was concerned he was setting fire to an empty building (which was still wrong, don't misunderstand me) and Sunita arrived after he lit the fire so at the actual moment he lit the fire he thought the place was empty. He was horrified when he realised Stella was inside and dashed back in to try and save her - that combined with his guilt over killing Sunita, causing Toni to die and being tempted to kill Dev shows he is not as monstrous as Tony Gordon or Richard Hillman though by no means as innocent as John Stape either.

He is definitely in need of help - no doubt about that. His dangerous obsession with Stella drove him to commit terrible crimes. Even Stella saw he was losing the plot "Yes, if you want to stay sane" and so did Sunita "You really believe that don't you? You're mad".

By the way madness doesn't necessarily mean a person doesn't know what he/she is doing. Sometimes it can mean that a person's actions are based on irrational reasoning but the person still knows what they are doing or that a driven person has ended up behaving recklessly.

Yes I too am glad he is not being killed off. It's nice to have a change since both John Stape and Richard Hillman were killed off. He will probably be arrested and given psychiatric treatment in prison.
