The worlds best Pub
always seeking the best pub out, I managed a few years ago to pretty much stumble upon this place by accident.
http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attract...les_Wales.html It is IMO the best pub I have ever been to and I usually travel the 10 miles or so from home to go here rather than any local (always having fingers crossed I can bag a lift as well )I have yet to find a pub or landlord to beat it, even when out on trips to other areas. If you ever pass by you MUST and I mean must call in - it is brilliant. Where else should we visit folks for a Nice Pint and a good atmosphere ? |

Any pub in North Wales where the locals don't switch to speaking Welsh when you open your mouth has to be in with a shout.

In that case I hope they are not like the cockney character who took over a successful village pub round here and tried to give it a traditional East End boozer ambience.

Nope as they have been there for years and the reviews are top notch then they are doing a grand job.
I love going there, its miles better than anything else I have been to - even the little pubs in York (there are a few good uns there too) |

TBH finding a pub with decent even excellent beer is not that difficult these days. It is finding one that offers the kind of surroundings you feel comfortable in which is trickier. At least you no longer have to worry about the smog of fag smoke hitting you in the face when you open the door.
Things I try to avoid 1) Slot machines but don't mind pool or skittles or darts etc; 2) "Dining" pubs where you are either sat up at a table on uncomfortable chairs or crammed out of the way if you only want a drink; 3) Family friendly pubs; 4) Live music unless it is why you went there or is unusually good and different and to your taste. 5) Background music unless it is *very* background and is not the same few numbers on a permanent loop. |
