I'm of the opinion that BT TV in general over the next few years and people expect certain things from their TV service.

There's no indication that they'll provide local channels over their multicast platform, and there's no reason why they can't.

I've got ITV HD on my Vision+ box and it's the London version! Makes you think if they will even bother with the new local channels when they launch.

Would there be any point? If a viewer is in range of a local TV service, it'll be on channel 8 (or 45 in Scotland and Wales) via the terrestrial part of the BT TV service. The HD situation is surely just a workaround due to not having boxes compatible with the DVB-T2 Freeview HD standard?
