Advice for a Poorly Ferret
Advice please, my daughter has a ferret that is sneezing, has diarrhea and generally lethargic,he is 9 weeks old.
The people they had him off were feeding him on cat food !! Any suggestions what could be wrong with him? Thanks

I can't give any advice other than take the animal to a vet. They will know what to do.

second vote for a vet
but cat food is actually fine for a ferret, ferret foods are a relatively new thing, before this came about ferrets were fed commonly on road kill or cat food as their needs are very similar, almost identical to a cats. ferrets can contract canine distemper sneezing, lethargy and diarrhoea can be symptoms of this. or it could be a cold, or flu. being so young i would get him to the vet ASAP. it may not be anything quite so serious, but such a young animal with diarrhoea can get into trouble very quickly. |

Ferrets can also contract the common cold - in fact they're used in labs because of that
