.... apparently this is unlikely to happen until the new year now.

They are looking for a way of Plusnet Broadband users getting access to BT Sports prior to that (next few weeks.)

I couldn't work out if that was just for Sky users or whether it would be streamed to your laptop.

As plus tends to be cheaper than Bt id be surprised if the offered the sky option. Online makes sense but after all Bt need new customers paying the max amount possible. I can only see them selling to bt customers.

I look forward to seeing what PlusNet plans to do about BT Sport over the next few weeks.
Whilst I'm surprised that its YouView offering has slipped to next year, the later PlusNet launches the service, the more extensive OpenReach's fibre broadband network will be.

How reliable is this information? I can see them offering it via an online application.

PlusNet has been testing YouView and plans to launch its own service at some stage.

Do you think there will be Plusnet branded YouView boxes then?

I contacted PlusNet recently as a customer. They advised they were currently testing a YouView service but couldn't confirm when it would be launched.

i wonder what they will offer to existing customers then? I will be on their highest residentual fibre broadband package in about 3 weeks time, so I would like to see something good! It would be a good way to get a freeview HD (sort of) capable box! But only if the offer is really good!

Aren't plusnet owned by BT anyway? If so the chances are BT Sport will be on it.

Agreed, the debate will be around the pricing.

Yes although they make them different eg BT has super hub and wifi whilst PlusNet has solely UK call centres.

and what difference is a super hub to an ordinary router? TBH it jsut sounds like a fancy name for a router! and most if not all home routers do wifi, so thats not really different!

From what I can gather, the BT hub uses both the 2.4 and 5 MHz bands and varies the 2.4 MHz channel according to other users in the area. So if, for example, you have several neighbours all using Channels 1 or 6, it will go to Channel 3. The Virginmedia Superhub 2 is similar.

Not about YouView but related. It appears that Plus Net will soon be selling subscriptions to BT Sport for viewing over the Sky platform according to this news report. No £15 connection fee, no monthly contract, £6pm SD, £7.50pm HD for broadband subscribers.

"In addition to offering BT Sport content, Plusnet is looking to launch YouView next year with trials set to begin before the end of 2013."

As I'm on Plusnet, I'd be interested in taking part in any YouView trials they might offer. Though I'm wondering
if YouView becomes a full-time offering with Plusnet, whether it be for all Plusnet broadband customers, or if
it'll be restricted to those that have both broadband and home phone. I'll be rather peed off if it's the latter!

Plusnet YouView trails have recently begun, and I have joined, but there is a strict NDA with the trial so I can't
really say much about it. I received my trial YouView box yesterday, and set it all up, now I have 2 questions:

1. How do I rearrange/customise the TV channel numbers?
2. How do I eliminate overscan to see the full picture?

You've probably already said too much!

How do I eliminate overscan to see the full picture?
Isn't that more likely to be a setting on the TV?
