He's such an imaginative actor. There are tiny things he does that are perfect, for instance when he found the cards from his dad and opened the first one, as he read the message his lips moved slightly, which told us about Ste's reading difficulty and was a childlike thing to do as he read something that he should have read when he was a child. Or tonight, when he was looking in Leah's book to choose what to read to Pauline, he nodded almost imperceptibly when he reached his decision. It's beautiful.
I thought it said a lot on Sunday when he'd asked Toby to read in the other parts as he went through his lines (off air) and when they came back on air and Kieron was his usual chirpy self, Toby asked him how he does it, meaning that he must have been Ste when he was doing his lines but switched back into Kieron afterwards. It shows that he puts the work in even when he's just learning his script.
