Just purchased this fantastic mobile from Amazon, can someone please advise as its a windows 8 device is it compatible with the Samsung kies software...?
Previously I had a Samsung Galaxy S2 and saved my contacts to the kies software package, now when I try to upload my contacts to my new micro sim it won't recognise the fone...!!!

Looking at the phone on Samsung's UK website it does not mention Kies at all so I'm assuming it's not required.

With it being a Windows Phone Zune is more likely something that would work with it - although if I had a Windows Phone 8 I'd use neither! LOL I've used both and don't really like either of them and now that you can drag and drop files into the phone I'd not want to use them.

The Kies software is not meant for windows phones. Windows Phone 8 has its own apps when sync'ing with a PC and does not use the Zune software which is just for Windows Phone 7.

There's lots of ways of sorting the contacts out, below are three different ways:

Regarding contacts, you can pull them to your new phone from your S2 directly via Bluetooth. There should be a contacts transfer app on your new phone.

Your android phone would have synchronised your contacts to your Google account. If you sign in to your google account on your windows phone, it should automatically pull down your contacts from the cloud (best to have the phone on a decent WiFi connection to make this happen more quickly).

Alternatively, if the contacts are on your PC due to the kies software, upload them to your microsoft account over the web. If you go to outlook.com and sign in with your microsoft account and then go to people, you can manage your contacts.
