When all that is taken into account, it works out cheaper than sky over the initial contract period.

You also have to remember that if you are keeping sky BB then you have to pay activation fees for BT sport everytime you want it switched on.

It reports dissatisfaction amongst UFC fans who can no longer watch online as this service has been discontinued in the UK as part of the BT Sport deal.

Poor figures in that article, the 23,000 "new broadband customers" are actually customers that took BT TV.

But how does that work out cheaper than paying £12/£15 to BT for their sport as a standalone exactly? Works out £8 more expensive if you keep sky line and bb and pay for sport standalone.

Not really, because you still end up paying 12 months anyway. So it's fairer to compare a 12 month deal against a 12 month deal with Sky

Yes they will pay £16 for a further 6 months but if you do an 18 month comparison then it does take £48 off the BT price.

It is a crucial part of it for people like me who switch regularly to the best deals.

Personally i would be 50p a month worse off moving to BT (extensive calculations).

Lets give the £40 gift card that was available (now reduced to £25) a value of £36 (because Sainsbury's is slightly more expensive and i would never usually spend that much in a single shop).

So for the sake of £25 (36-9) i would be tied into an 18 month contract for phone and broadband (rolling contract at present). I would be charged for calling Sky customer service if i needed to discuss my TV package. Plus i can currently cancel BT Sport if i end up not watching the channel very much.

I'm wasn't giving an example of specific deals anyway, we would be here all day working them all out. I was giving an example that standard line rental and broadband with BT sport as well would work out cheaper with bt than sky.
Obviously there are people on bundle discounts etc and it wouldn't work out cheaper for everyone.

(The guys being professional rugby players).

Just as it would be absurd to say that pro rugby players are "pumped" that all Heineken Cup games are on Sky.

Or that they would be "pumped" that all England autumn internationals and summer tour internationals are on Sky.

He is trying to promote BT sport and create a buzz. He is doing a pretty good job too.

BT sport must be doing something right. The sky sports subscribers in thsi thread seem to be watching discussion programmes on BTS1 while the ashes are live on SS2.
