Of their other marquee 'Big 5' games Arsenal v Man United was a dreadful game and only Man City v Liverpool on Boxing Day hit the heights in terms of being a close, exciting and even contest with the game on a knife edge.
There is nothing they can do about what happens on the pitch but BT would have hoped that these big games would have provided a bit more drama than they have. For me, yesterday was the last big exclusive day they will have this season. Yes, they have the Cup Final but most will watch ITV, and they do have PL games left to show, but for me the PL and CL run in is now exclusively a Sky and ITV affair.”
Michael Owen or Andy Townsend? as far as the Cup final is concerned neither would attract viewers alone.
Going back to their games yes your right they would of wished for more in the way of drama but I think as far as their first season went they can be happy with what they showed.
I think if you ask them their biggest disappointment in far as games are concerned they would say Arsenal v Man Utd for sure.
They can only build for next season and I think viewing figures alone shows they did very well this season and will prove to them more decent packages at the next rights will continue to attract the audience.
Not that I think it will happen next season but they should start looking at pundits and co-commentary roles.
