Cannot see it happening myself although I do seem to remember SKY having a camera in the dressing room I think during the FA trophy some years back.

Can you image the dressing room with Alex Ferguson.

It was an extraordinarily long programme for a pre-season friendly, with 75mins of pre-match.

To be honest the score/time in the bottom corner is growing on me a bit now. Didn't like it at first, probably partly because it was different to what we're used to - but as the Liverpool game went on yesterday I was noticing it less and less, by the end I'd only really notice it when they were popping up stat bars or the picture in picture.

Speaking of the picture and picture, although it was a bit strange to see at first, as long as they don't go overboard with it I much prefer that way of showing managers/subs/crowd than the usual way of cutting away the full picture when the game's still going on - there's been times chances have been completely missed because of that - you can hear the commentators talking about a chance yet you can't see anything as ITV/Sky/whoever directs the match coverage has decided to cut away to the manager shouting instructions for half a minute.

Oh behave!! That is so far removed from the truth it's unreal.

It's your opinion... But I disagree entirely!

Agreed, and it will just put people off. 75mins build up is too much for a competitive game never mind a friendly and there's only so much of David James murmurings you can take!

How much do subscription sports channels usually get for a pre season friendly? I think we have to consider it was also shown on LFCTV Online, which was cheaper, so a fair few people probably watched it on that.

Yeah when teams do subs it be good if they do split screen only if the player is taking ages to come on like when they put there shirt kit on

and it's annoying when sky go to adverts when the players are lined up and about to shake hands
Do the advert before the players come out in the tunnel for the start of the game

And when the game is over keep the camera on the pitch on the players wait until they all gone down the tunnel before you cut to the studio or the adverts

I was very impressed by the French football season preview. Philippe Auclair and Julien Laurens were in the studio along with Matt Spiro, some bookmaker, and an Opta statistician.

They got Leonardo on the phone, too.

It was quite a step up from ESPN's coverage in recent seasons.

Of course, it seems as if we'll only see analysts like this for the Sunday Night European Football show, but I was pleased they made the effort.

I still think they should wheel one or two of these guys out for a bumper weekly highlights show encompassing all of their European football, but this looks a promising start.

Archie.

Any idea of the tennis ratings? I imagine it's pretty low because of the time it's being shown. Also, does anyone have an idea when an on demand facility will become available

Ondemand facility will be up and running at by the end of the year at the very latest. That's all I know.
They have lots of ideas for the app and they will apparently take around 3 years to implement. I can't tell you what these are though.

Yes, very good coverage too - an hour long film about the story of the UFC, then the countdown for an hour, then the preliminaries, then the main event.

As for the ratings - do they only count people who watch live? I recorded the main event as it was 3am - 6am so I'll be watching that later.

Thanks for the reply mate

It only counts if you have a barb box anyway mate.

I can not wait to get my teeth stuck into some UFC. It's good to see a company show some investment in the sport and help build the brand. I would have loved to watch the documentary but I am sure it will be repeated at some point.

I like the sound of this bt sport film commissions.

I don't think it is that. I am sure the BBC were paying him plenty.

I think they made him an offer he couldn't refuse - come and be the face of premier league football on our new sports channels.

How is he going to turn that down?

I'll laugh AT you. Just not with you because you're not funny in the slightest.

Although, I will commend you for saying Norway and not the more obvious funny man line - Ireland. So well done you.

Do they have any plans for a red button service on sky?

He told me that he was at the BBC and was planning on staying there years because he eventually wanted Linekar's job as football anchor, but then this come up and he saw it as too good an opportunity to waste.
His parents weren't too happy as they see the BBC as an institution but he said he had to do what was best for his career and his family.
But of inside info for ya
