Regarding Europa League coverage I would opt for Paul Dempsey to present a talk show prior to the 6pm games in the competition, giving build up and expert views with two/three pundits. Jake Humphrey would then be at the main game at 8.05pm and present from the ground as coverage would be passed on to him, following the 6.00pm final whistle.

Well, for BT one of two things has occured (or more likely somewhere in between).
When you look through the figures, two matches have rated considerably higher than the rest. So: 1. BT have lots of subscribers or people who have stayed with BT because of their football offering, although subscribers/viewers watch very few matches 2. BT have similar numbers to ESPN/Setanta but BT and VM subscribers have seen a number of games (5-6) as a sort of bonus offering. BT obviously want it to be option 1. |

However, I do think BT is a significant improvement over Setanta and ESPN. For one they have some of the "big" PL games, they have future rights to the CL and EL as well as top games in the FA Cup with excellent coverage of foreign football, rather than just showing the live games without coverage. |

Even now they have quite a few presenters they can turn to, like you say James Richardson, Paul Dempsey or with it still being over a year to go who knows they may get a new face in. |

BT Sport to be made available via Chromecast
No, not an April Fool!
"BT has agreed to make its sports channels available via Google’s Chromecast, in a move that reduces its dependence on the much criticised YouView television platform. The channels will only be available to BT’s broadband customers, said John Petter, the head of BT’s consumer division." "No date for the launch of BT’s channels on Chromecast has been made public" http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/c1632c5a-b...#axzz2xZKMbMxf |

That's a strange restriction, since from what I understand Chromecast just wirelessly streams from an application (in this case, presumably, the BT Sport app) to wherever the dongle is plugged in - so there should be no requirement to have BT Broadband, just that the user can access the BT app (so broadband and customers that have the channels on Sky)

Just a couple of questions here ive had BT sport since launch date last year BT Infinity customer to when does the free year stop is it around august time then u have to pay £12 per month. Secondly i have BT sport in my room on my sky box but because BT dont allow multiroom or sky i suppose getting a chromecast would be ideal for my father downstairs he could then watch the tv with the Bt sport app running of my nexus 7. Although hoiw this would work with regards to judder remains to be seen.

Presumably the aim is to sell BT broadband regardless of the device that BT Sport is viewed on so it makes sense to me. There are probably BT broadband customers who don't have YouView or Sky boxes but may wish to take advantage of BT Sport via Chromecast as oppose to viewing on a small screen.

The local/national newspapers were reporting yesterday that the Arms Park in Cardiff will be renamed as part of its sponsorship deal with them, the "BT Sport Arms Park" from August this year.

Undoubtedly, I just don't see how they'll implement this unless they change the whole login system of the app. I have BT Sport but not their broadband, and I can currently use the app just as someone with BT Broadband can. Unless they change the app to have a two-tiered login system then Sky customers will be able to use the Chromecast functionality too.

We will know all come next Monday, 7th April, as that's when BT Sport will be available via Chromecast! http://www.broadbandtvnews.com/2014/...-debut-monday/

BT customers, and others, who the freemium channel will use the BT App from their tablet or smartphone to stream the channel to their TV via the Google dongle.
doesn't make it very clear but might indicate that anyone who has the app can use Chromecast. I hope so, will be buying a Chromecast to use with it if this is confirmed.

Sooner than I expected too! According to the Broadband TV News article, "From April 7 the ‘cast’ button will appear in the BT Sport app on Android and iOS devices."
So if that cast button appears on your app then you're good to go! |

I think this is fantastic. Gives more scope to BT and their customers.
I can't believe ChromeCast is coming so quick after their announcement and it's at such a competitive price. If I was a viewer just using an app and having to stream it to my tele from my comp, I would defo jump at this. Will iT stream in HD? Hopefully BT will see the demand for it and it will pave the way for BT Sport on consoles too? |

Definitelty, the more exposure the better and the more reach the better!
It needs to be seen as easily accessible. |

How does chromecast manage aspect ratios?
When I link my iPad to large screen samsung via apples hdmi adapter it ends up letterboxed AND pillarboxed. Can't override it with any of the tv settings either. ( my mid size Panasonic screen will allow me to zoom to overcome the issue). Is chromecast likely to end up the same on the samsung? |

Re: MLB games on ESPN...does anyone here have a way of finding out in advance which games are available and which are unavailable to online viewers?
Apologies if this has been covered before. |

Final game of the season for BT revealed among the May fixtures.
The television picks are: 1st Chelsea v Norwich (SS1, Sun, 16.00) 2nd Arsenal v West Brom (SS1, Sun 13.30) 3rd Everton v Man City (SS1, Sat, 17.30) 4th Crystal Palace v Liverpool (SS1, Mon 20.00) 5th WEST HAM V TOTTENHAM (BTS1, Sat 12.45) So it is clear that as Sky build up to the final Premier League week, BT will exclusively show, what appears as if to be nothing more than a friendly encounter between two teams fighting for very little. It's a shame they didn't decide to switch focus to the bottom end of the table but I suppose this would have been a safe bet for a good number of viewers. |

Or try this.
Check if your tv is set to regular aspect ratio, if so, turn it to widescreen it should work. Try changing aspect ratio in tv options. Or if there is an automatic option, try that too. |
