What does that have to do with it? As I said, most people who are interested in watching NRL probably already subscribe to Sky Sports.

FInding BT's choice of Chester - Salisbury for last game of the season a bit of an odd one

Would have thought Braintree v Grimsby or Gateshead - Cambridge would be better choices

Presumably they see (avoiding) relegation as being more important than the play-offs.

I would view this as an excellent week for BT.
Not only are Moto GP rights proving very worthwhile for BTS2 coverage but also some excellent figures on BTS1 despite no PL game. 322,000 is absolutely superb considering Sky were rivaling this with a PL match featuring Chelsea, straight after the huge Liverpool v Man City encounter.
The Skrill Premier figures are also very encouraging for both the non-league in general and BT while 65,000 is quite acceptable for a third choice EL game featuring no English team.
ESPN figures look rather low however and BT may feel the need to re-brand if the channels sketchy performance continues.

Yes, the FA Cup rating is very good given the Sky Sports PL competition. However an important point to remember is that a substantial proportion of BT Sport homes don't have Sky Sports - so for those homes the SS competition is irrelevant.

One area which I think has to be considered disappointing is the Aviva Premiership - 3 games averaging only 86,000. We have seen some very good Aviva ratings on BT but these have usually been in the Sat 3pm slot after BT's PL game.

Would be interesting to see BT's average Aviva ratings split between "with PL lead-in" and "without PL lead-in" - though that would require a lot of work!

Interesting to see the conference doing well. Seems to have held its own for BT this year and pulled in viewers. The real value does come with the playoffs and the playoff final.

I can imagine BT will feel these have offered good value for money.

Next interesting comparison will be the FA Cup final and how it compares to ESPN from last year.

I wonder how many this year would choose from listening to Clive Tlydsley or Ian Darke.

Ian Darke for me. A more interesting commentary in my opinion. My next though would be Andy Townsend v Michael Owen and while many people criticize Owen, Townsend isn't exactly praised for his co-commentating ability either.

BT Sport has agreed a deal to take over as the main sponsor and broadcaster of the prestigious PFA Awards.

The 2014 ceremony will be held at the Grosvenor House in London on Sunday, April 27 and hosted by BT Sport’s lead football presenter Jake Humphrey.
A 30-minute highlights show will be broadcast on BT Sport the following night, bringing viewers all the atmosphere of the night as the country’s top players, sporting VIPs, industry professionals and media gather to mark another memorable year.

i didnt know if someone has put it in here..... if not here you go

Good spot. Who was the broadcaster before? Can't say I've ever watched them on TV to be honest.

I could be totally wrong here but I thought it was Sky....sure in the past Richard Keys has hosted it and recently Ed Chamberlin springs to mind, but I could easily be thinking of something else.

If BT went for Andy Gray instead of Michael Owen it'd be an obvious choice because Clive Tyldesley is so annoying. Unfortunately Michael Owen is more annoying.

Sort of agree, however BT will be showing those teams in the playoffs, so maybe thought it better to have a bit more of a variety.

Also means a better chance of a large crowd, loads of disgruntled Newcastle fans were at the Good Friday game, at the International Stadium on Saturday. #SuperHeedArmy

Darke for me. Tyldesley isn't fit to lick Darke's boots.
As for Andy Townsend, don't get me started on that brainless....
Hoping BT also get Andy Gray, it will make for some top notch coverage.

Its been Sky Sports for donkeys years. Shame it's never broadcast live though.

The value in US sports is subs, some triple play, for a very modest outlay.

anyone think the reason they "let" the french rugby go was to get the spanish la liga rights? They will probably need to double what Sky paid this year for them and Sky wont loose them lightly.
I do wonder with the new change of management will there be a refocusing from BT on where the sports channel goes from here. If they are to get any of the 5 packs from sky in the next round of premier league rights I will say they will have to pay at least 60-70% above what sky pay now.

I know analysts are saying that they expect a 40-50% increase in prices but an extra 2 packs(the 1.30pm sunday one for example) are worth a lot more to BT than getting the less valuable ones that Sky cant control the latter stages of the season with as they do now.

It's not in Hereford's hands though, they have to win and rely on Chester slipping up.

Pretty sure BT will be able to show the goals from absolutely everywhere in the Conference. If Sky can show goals from Championship games straight after they're scored on Sky Sports News, it'd be amazing if the Conference was particularly choosy.

Doubt TV money makes that much difference at that level, in the Premier Sports deal the figures were barely into four figures.

So instead of giving both broadcasters a Europa League semi-final each so they're both on TV, UEFA have instead given both to ITV, who aren't even bothering to put the Sevilla-Valencia game on telly. Brilliant.
