I know Ian Darke was on commentary duties today it's most likely that Darren Fletcher will get the nod for next Saturday's Merseyside derby.

Does anybody else think it's a bit overkill for the viewer having him presenting the show leading up to the pre-match build-up and then commentating on the game a short time after. I appreciate BT have brought him in from BBC and want to make the most of his abilities. I personally think BT should be maximising Ian Darke for their PL coverage, they could even use Fletcher as co-comm (as he was on 5 Live) alternating him with Michael Owen (yes I'm not a fan either but seems like he's here to stay, for another season anyway).

576i/25 > 720p/25 for sport IMO. As long as it isn't Freeview-esque bit rates of course.

Can't you can add it manually to "other channels" or whatever it's called and record from that?

Also, whilst the channel branding is "BT Sport Extra", its official name on satellite is "BT Sport Extra 1", so perhaps a sign of things to come. Curiously, the "BT Sport Mosaic" channel (the menu screen with channel and red button options) is incorrectly set to a 4:3 aspect ratio. This is also true of many (all?) of Sky's red button menu screens, although you wouldn't see it if your box is set to 1080i since it stretches 4:3 to 16:9 anyway. I doubt it's a coincidence but I also can't think of any reason for this.

BT Sport online streams (720p) are actually very good.
Something Sky could learn from.............

Is this info available on Sky anywhere? Tried adding it to other channels when it was broadcasting yesterday, using the info in the Satellite news thread from when it was discovered - but it didn't seem to be there. The only BT channels that appeared in the search were BTS1, BTS2 and ESPN, all twice.

Hmm, that is strange. They are all on 12515H. I don't know why BT Sport Extra 1 wouldn't appear alongside them, unless there's some weird non-standard flag that Sky uses to separate "real" channels from red button ones.

If you're still seeing this the next time BT Sport Extra is available, I'd try unplugging your Sky box, waiting a minute and plugging back in.

I saw the same message and rebooting the box sorted it.

It is strange, for some reason I only get the SD versions of the standard BT channels, repeated twice.

Using these search parameters gets me these results.

50367 and 50368 seem to both be BT Sport 1 SD.

Maybe it's related to the model of Sky box or something? Not that it's a big deal, but it's strange how it only seems to be showing up in channel searches for some of us and not all.

I enjoyed the coverage from Loftus Road yesterday, good to hear a few new voices in Jenas and Higginbotham.

The new Saturday line up does work quite well - there is a real flow to it. Fletch and Sav far, far better than what went before it and is essentially just an extension of the pre-match stuff with Jake.

I'm even starting to quite like Robbie Savage!

What I believe the poster is saying is that everyone who thought that BT wouldn't have a red button service in place before its Champions League coverage starts next season has been proved wrong.

I have to admit as well, Michael Owen wasn't to bad at all along side Darkie yesterday either, seem to be getting along better than for a while now.
