If it was fan commentary, then by all means, but you're there to give your professional opinion, not to be unprofessional and call a team "we" all the time.”
Unprofessional - in your opinion.
Repeated points you haven't diectly responded to:
1 - if he says exactly the same thing but uses "they" instead of "we" how does that make his analysis any less or more professional or worthy of consideration (especially when there is absolutely nobody watching who could be unaware of his allegiance as he was a one club man and is recently retired).
Whereas, based on his playing career, with Steve McMananaman his allegiance might not be so obvious except he stops just short of putitng on a scarf and wearing a club blazer,,,
2 - most of the time (I've seen him on BT) he is being asked to provide background analysis on Manchester United and it would be simply weird if he was not to use the word "we" when talkuing about situations he was involved in.
3 - this is obviously ok with BT Sport and is the kind of punditry they are looking to provide. Have a go at them all rather than singling out one.
I just find it utterly strange that watching football punditry can be called unprofessional simply because former players (who in many cases are there to provide analysis based on their club careers anyway). I would go as far to say (again based on what I've seen and in my opinion) that Scholes' analysis is the most fresh and professional on BT's panel.
