But in that case, not unprofessional of (say) Scholesy... how can it be that if you are fulfilling the terms of your contract?

Criticism of the TV company or programme maker itself is, of course, a different matter altogether, though not an issue for me, not even when Liverpool supporting pundits pontificate like that (I just disregard it!). Matter of opinion is that, though.

Indeed, Liverpool-centric pundits were doing it all last season on BT.

But it's only now that Paul Scholes does it it's considered unprofessional?

That's why I suspect club loyalties are playing some part in the postings

Shouting is not very professional behaviour

What point has been proven? The one where I said there was no mention of this "unprofessional behaviour" until Paul Scholes started doing it?

That's your first post on the subject that sparked this part of the thread. No mention of Liverpool pundits there at all until it was suggested that there might be some club bias going on.

Nice advert from BT swiping at Sky's obsession with yellow on transfer deadline day

BT's transfer deadline day advert all a bit yellow is a bit odd as Sky females dress in yellow and Sky's transfer deadline branding is all yellow.

This is minor but seems a bit odd from a brand perspective (Marketing is my job so I notice these things)

A lot has been made about their pundits but I haven;t heard many thoughts on Owen Hargreaves. For me, he's certainly no Neville but he's one of the better of BT's bunch to be fair. He's quite insightful, always firm on his opinions and I'm glad he's getting more games now as he was missing for much of the start of the season.

I think it's probably taking the Michael out of Sky and their over use of yellow.

It was very unclear to me. I couldn't tell if it was a joke or not. BT's adverts continue to be woeful.

So, this may sound like a stupid question, (and I'm fully prepared to be laughed off the message board for even asking) but here goes.

BT Sport 1 and 2 appear on the Freeview EPG, but aren't viewable.
Why? Why are they even on the list if you can't view them?
Or is there a way to "unlock" them?

I am a BT Customer (with Infinity and have no problem viewing the channels online), with only freeview (no Sky, BT TV or Virgin, etc etc).

They are there for BT TV customers as far as I know.

Little bit surprised nobody mentioned this, but does anyone else think Jake's question asking if results like today's were good for the FA Cup or bad for it was an utterly ridiculous thing to ask? It's not bad for the competition at all! It might be rubbish for him because they get to show less big teams now, but for the competition, it's results like today's that make the FA Cup what it is!

They're there for BT TV customers who wanted BT Sport but didn't have fast enough broadband to get the channels via BT's prefered method of via your broadband connection.
So what they did was also put them on the DTT network for viewers to watch that way via a BT TV box with its built-in Freeview decoder (And of course needing a viewing card for decryption)
Originally, they were where TopUp TV & BT TV viewers subscribed to Sky Sports 1 & Sky Sports 2, but BT took the SS channels off DTT and replaced them with BT Sport 1 & 2.
(You can no longer subscribe to BT Sport channels via the Freeview channels, only the existing customers with them, you can only sub to BT Sport on BT TV via the BB method)

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll carry on watching on the laptop.

Well, except for the baseball, because that seems to get "Sorry this programme is not available online" warnings for me

The BT box blocking the ball on goal replays is possibly the most annoying thing I've seen in football coverage in a long time.

I realise that has probably been pointed out before, but this is the first game I've seen this season on BT and it's just terrible coverage from that point of view.

As much as I love Neil Lennon, focusing on him for the BT box for 2 minutes isn't really needed. It's not as if it was a heated game and touch line bust ups were likely to happen.

It even got in the way of play at one point. Use it but sparingly when they really need it,

There are some on line broadcast restrictions

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Robbie Savage!

Absolutely shocking attempt at co-commentating today. The fact he was trending shows just how unpopular his performance was. BT really need to sort out their co-comms situation; Michael Owen most definitely the answer and sticking in Savage when they've got additional games on a cup weekend certainly isn't the solution.

Can you imagine having to listen to him during a Champions League match next season. No thanks!

Steve McManaman used to co-commentate with Darke when they worked on ESPN's coverage in America and by all accounts they were a good combination. Surely it would be better to use somebody who has experience in the role than just sticking in a 'name' to try and make it look good.

Andy Gray would be ideal, and a right kick up the arse for sky.

Oh it has been mentioned loads over on the commentators thread and make no mistake he has got a hammering for what you quite rightly say was a shocking performance.

There were times today im pretty sure even Ian Darke was getting fed up and embarrassed by some of his hysterical shouting and is stupid hyping of his Fletch and Sav show on Saturday morning with Darkie forgot to mention.

Sky doesn't need a kick up the arse. Quinn aside, they've never been better.
Ironically, though, Quinn is miles better than any of BT's co-commentators.
