Germany expects overspill because its a landlocked country in all but one direction using a satellite that is designed for more than one country whereas the UK doesn't.
So overspill of rights, especially in English is something of an issue to European broadcasters and UEFA

Thats a great summer score for BT IMHO!
They've done a decent job of covering the England U21's, could have done a little better covering the away games that had TV coverage but BT didn't go for, but not bad!
Funny this being a UEFA competition and with Sky having no UCL rights after this season is over - Read into it much or just coincidence?!

A look at BT Sport's rugby next weekend:

Saturday - Aviva Premiership semi-finals
Northampton Saints v Saracens
Bath v Leicester Tigers
(Will be played one after the other, but no order yet decided)

Sunday - European Rugby Champions Cup playoff semi-final
Gloucester v Connacht

Also confirmation that BT will show the U20 World Championship in June, having wrestled the rights from Sky. This combined with the U21 Euros makes for a decent June on BT Sport.

I thought the under-20 World Cup was on Eurosport? I know BT have the Toulon tournament and the under 21 euros.

Has to have FTA coverage, but can share with a Pay to view Broadcaster.

Having got the 2015 European Games, maybe BT could use it to say to the IOC let us share with FTA channel.

Traditionally the Away games for Scottish teams in this stage of the CL air on BBC Scotland but this year could be different

Premier Sports have done a few of tbe Scottish teams' away games too in recent years, they had the Legia Warsaw v Celtic tie last season

I wonder if they'll be tempted to go for 100% of the main rights when they next come up for renewal.

I certainly wouldn't be disappointed to see BT as the exclusive SPFL rights holder. Their coverage of football this side of the border has been a breath of fresh air compared to Sky.

I do hope BT will go for most of the SPFL rights next time round. For BT seem to have good coverage of the SPFL.

Its funny because BT's coverage of Scottish footie has been nothing short of brilliant!
Compare that with BT's shambolic coverage of the EPL!
It really does make you wonder how they can get one perfect and then make a dogs dinner of the other!!

BT's live coverage of european football is better than sky's coverage of spanish football

BT's coverage of the EPL is terrible

I think it's because they've not tried to bring in supposed big names just for the sake of it (Currie and McAllister vs. Humphrey and Owen). Nor do the Scottish team try and make people think they're the best thing to happen to televised football since time began.

Plus you have the class act that is Derek Rae commentating on all games, instead of half being done by someone who can't get out of radio mode.

Would Sky be in any financial position to bid for outright rights or even keep it as it is at the moment?

Just wonder if they threw everything into one basket with the Premier League that now they cant be to bold at all.

It could quite easily be there for the taking for BT.
