Indeed. Having said that though, mlt11 has posted stuff before that shows the CL's ratings are average at best.

Ratings will improve next season though (compared with how they would have been assuming the same broadcaster) because Man U are in it. Probably.

Their absence last season may explain Sky's 'lowest ever ratings'.

Sour grapes indeed - but can't argue with the fact ratings wise PL > CL - of course Sky would very much like both.

Man U were in it last season.

I agree- if not essential to Sky Sports, they nevertheless didn't want BT Sport gaining a further foothold; and I believe that it indirectly contributed to Sky over-bidding for Premier League rights, in fear of more aggressive bidding by BT.

What makes me laugh the most, yes off course BT paid well over the odds for the rights and Sky publicly said that after they were awarded, but what did they pay for the Premier rights a few months ago?
Probably even more well over the odds.

I like how they've deliberately made the advert even more embarrassing than their actual coverage, so viewers will subscribe to the channel with the lowest possible expectations and thus find Michael Owen and Rio Ferdinand more exciting than they are in reality. Clever.

Will BT Sport Europe be available to BT Broadband customers online at no extra cost?

Will be interesting to see if La Liga rights get a mention on Tuesday.

The CL deserves better than the diarrhoea that BT are going to serve up next season. It's going to be excruciating.

Yes I did think that....would all tie in very nicely with this new channel, really could describe it as the home of European football....unlike Sky Sports 5

Hey, look on the bright side, at least they didn't ruin it during the glorious British-dominated years of 2005-2009, that would have been unbearable.

Haha, definitely not. But we all know I'll be right.
Lineker and Darke are excellent, but ultimately, you can't polish a turd.

They've got French, German & Italian football already. Enough to fill BT Sport Europe as it is.

Ah, so that's what they've been doing with their advertising strategy so far .

Whatever you think of Sky, they know how to put on a show. BT are probably going to have Danny Baker and Robbie Savage at the helm FFS

And that Mourinho advert is craap.

Unless you missed it, the grand conclusion of this season of club football season was tonight. Time to stop talking, methinks.
