Absolute idiots!”

Don't know why they are showing 0-0 scores for all the future games. Bit daft, should be
-v- instead. A matches score isn't 0-0 until it kicks off.

Glad it wasn't just me that saw and felt that yes!

If anyone has subscribed to BT's 4K service and is watching the community shield a couple of screenshots of the coverage would be appreciated

Obviously we don't get the detail of 4K on a 1080p screen however they're supposedly using custom graphics etc for it so it'll be interesting to see how it compares to their normal coverage.

Could somebody share with us some photos from BT SPORT ULTRA HD and BT SPORT SHOWCASE (because currently I'm not in the UK, and I don't have access to Freeview)?

The current DOG arrangement on BTS Europe is very jarring - both on the left with the channel at the top and score at the bottom.

Undoubtedly it's to avoid covering the Bundesliga logo, but when any part of the lower third is "out of bounds" I think they should just move everything to the top.

They've always put it in the top-left corner for German football.

Michael Owen is currently globally trending on Twitter, he is getting ripped apart and i can see why.
Usual appalling commentary

Could somebody tell me about The FA Community Shield transmission? Are there some cutting, minimum snapshot on picture? :>

My screenshots won't help much as I am watching it on a Panasonic 1024 x 768 plasma set. But the overall picture quality and impression is better than on BTS 2 HD. No Michael Owen for a start!

Seriously though, the picture appears to be sharper, yes even at ~720p. Control of the huge sun-shade contrast is better, though that could be down to how the levels are being handled by the different crews, I don't know. The use of a wider angle on the wide shots makes it much easier to pick out off the ball action, over half the pitch width on the far side is being shown. Players are of course smaller but the impression of sharpness (even at ~720p) makes it easy to pick them and the ball out. Graphics are the same on both channels (with 'Ultra' added on that one).

There seems to be less motion blur, which may contribute to the overall positive impression - though I cannot confirm that it's 50p as because I don't know what the UHD box and my TV do with the frame rate when scaling the original 2160/50p broadcast stream first to 1080p then (at the TV) to 1024x768.

Later this evening I will do some comparisons from my recordings of both channels, and then with the BBC1 HD highlights programme. Hopefully some with full HD sets and 4K sets will post their findings too.

You'll get an answer if and/or when people who have the answer open this thread.

But to be honest, even if I did have the answer I'd now be disinclined to provide it.

Saw you do something like this yesterday, not sure if you know how forums work but jumping up and down after a few minutes is unlikely to get you an answer

Looking at the DOG in the bottom right of screen on BT Sport 1 right now, it's more the style we've always seen from Sky. I wonder if this is something we'll see more of instead of the solid black one.

Only on non-live coverage.

Bit disappointed by that. Imo they should be framing the shot with it being more pulled back so more of the pitch and players are in shot at any one time. This way you can see more of what is usually happening off-screen in the SD/HD broadcast.

Example Columbia vs Uruguay in WC Brazil (60fps btw)

I wonder if the App issues are the fact they have all these new customers trying to access it and they can't?

Shame you can't pay a standalone charge for the use of the App from BT

Noticed that too, and Ladbrokes for the SPFL (same as Sky so presumably a condition of their league sponsorship).

Regarding their sponsors, does anyone else get sound drop-outs on BT when the sponsor promos finish and they go back to the live coverage? For example instead of "Barclays Premier League on BT Sport sponsored by William Hill" it'd end up as "sponsored by Will..............................." and then the sound comes back on as they go back to live coverage.

It could just be my speakers, but I've only ever noticed this on BT, and only when they cut from sponsor logos back to live coverage - it doesn't happen when going to adverts. Strange.

Could someone confirm if the La Liga rights BT Sport have acquired are valid for the 2015-16 season or 2016-17 season? Thanks
