It's also worth remembering that these would have been very tense negotiations - with Sky supposedly trying to re-enter the bidding - we have no idea what BT may have offered or felt they had to offer to get over the line - even if UEFA didn't explicitly demand it (and we don't know that - they may have done) then BT may well have felt they needed to offer it anyway to give them the maximum chance of closing the deal there and then.
