We don't know what pressure BT are under to fill the min quotas but I think they'd have been better off going for Leicester v Southampton in Week 32 and then Man Utd v Aston Villa in Week 34.

By ticking off the Villa min quota with the Chelsea game they were then able to take Norwich v Sunderland instead of Man Utd v Aston Villa.

Not a bad fixture for them - Obviously UTD for the ratings.
Norwich could clinch safety and UTD going for top 4.

The end of their first PL era

That's a very poor audience for Bayern game.

Only 175,000 peak for Madrid game, that is poor.

The silver lining is that meant only 175,000 of us had to put up with two hours of Robbie Savage. Can someone remind me how many Champions League matches he played in during his illustrious career?

To be fair he was a professional, none of the lead main commentators were pro’s. Martin Tyler , Clive Tyldesley, Ian Darke , Flearcher. I don’t actually mind savage he is like must football fans i know, talks scene half the time and talks crap the other half. He likes boys you here down the pub. Thats part of his appeal I think. I don’t think you have to have played in the CL to give your views. Here in Ireland we have a lot of pedants that have never played at the top European level.
You can pick faults with most commentators.

Their job isn't to regale you with stories of their glory days or draw on their rich playing heritage. A good commentator is a combination of an education and a voice. The natural intersection of a story teller and a journalist.

This obsession with hackneyed ex-pros who have "played the game" (and never tire of reminding the audience of the fact) is a real bore. I used to think it was a British disease but US Sports broadcasters are the same.

That's quite a good number for Dortmund v Liverpool given that it was up against the Masters. I didn't realize until last night that Sky were showing the Masters on Sky Sports 1 which I get through BT so I opted to watch that on the TV and the Liverpool game on the laptop.

BT showed UFC live pre-watershed last night for first time in forever. Possibly as a means of retaining the contract which is up come July.
