Do you think they'll hold off the announcement until after UFC 200?

It will be UFC that makes the announcement, not the broadcaster.
It will be this week i am told

I know, but would it not be in poor taste to say announce a new deal with Sky knowing BT will be showing 200?

That isn't UFC's problem if rights are moving or not.

@BTSportUFC tweeted at 12:02 that Thursdays fight night event will now be broadcast exclusively live on BT Sport 2. Up until this point this was a UFC Fight Pass exclusive event.

My youview box has updated, I couldn't find it listed yesterday So is this a sign that BT have a new, improved deal?

Could be that as they have the deal up until UFC 200 they were able to acquire the rights to Thursday's fight night.

As much as I would like Sky to get the deal, I can see UFC sticking with BT, if only for continuity reasons.

It appears to me that BT have the deal as:
1) It's been mentioned in the season's highlights email. I think BT may have removed it if it wasn't going to have a deal with UFC in the future. No point bigging up a sport if your key competitor is getting the rights.
2) BT has now got Thursday fight night as an exclusive. Why would UFC do this if it was dropping BT? Best to do such promotions with its future broadcast partner, unless BT is its future broadcast partner.

As another poster said, it could just very well be a generic email that they send out with what sports they currently have. And as it stands, they still have UFC as part of their lineup. So technically they aren't lying to you.

As a good will gesture for the last three years maybe?

Guess we will find out soon enough.

We got the same email yesterday too. The logos on it are so tiny that some of them are difficult to make out. I'm pretty sure that the Betfred Scottish League Cup, Speedway GP, German Cup and Swiss Super League are not on it, although they will have the rights to these.Make of that what you will.

The German Cup is on there on further inspection.

Has anybody seen any BT sport deals recently if you want to view on your Sky box ?

There used to be quite a few offers available especially outside of the football and Rugby season but I have not seen any this summer typical as I wanted to sign up.

I am guessing its Sky then given your previous post where you believe they will destroy it?

Personally a good thing for me given thats all I really use BT Sport for.

Supposed to be this week but the deal was wrapped up last week and could easily have been dropped into the news media then.
UFC themselves saying this week, so we'll see i guess.

Back to work for me

Firstly thanks for the info, if I had to guess then it's probably Sky. Reading your posts in the past I've learnt to figure you dislike BTs adverts, but it's certainly not diabolical. Unlike Sky who've already murdered UFC coverage once prior, could be wrong mind.

Would u be able to tell us Popeye if it's an FTA channel or subscription based?
