No, but as a 'filler' they've just got rights to that Indian Futsal League that Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, etc, will be playing in.

Sure I read somewhere (along with mentioning the Chinsese Super League) that BT Sport may *ponder* getting the Turkish Super Lig, now that the international rights are no longer with MP & Silva.
I mentioned on the Premier Sports thread that the CSL would be a good acquisition for them but with their coverage of the NRL in the morning at the weekend that might not work so well for them on reflection. Perhaps BT would be the logical location for it in the UK as they have the bandwidth to carry the league.

The Turkish Superlig is a different kettle altogether - if you look at liveonsat.com during the season the only coverage is via Turkish channels. It seems utterly extraordinary that German, Dutch, Belgian sports channels wouldn't be absolutely falling over themselves to acquire the rights. However I read in Voetbal International a few years ago, a Dutch magazine, that there is a deliberate ploy not to sell the rights internationally. It used to be pretty easy to acquire Turkish TV through a company in Leeds here in the UK and I think Digiturk and Lig TV do a pretty good business selling intl subs to Turkish ex-pats. Therefore suppressing the rights sales to German or Benelux territories would make sense

I don't know, this is total speculation, but it could be that this is because Turkey is outside the EU so isn't subject to the same rules on buying in TV destined for another EU country

I guess that would be me (about the August 2013 3 year deal) but where is the renewal info?
VM and BT are under no obligation to reveal if a deal has been done. They signed a deal for BT Sport Europe and BT Sport Showcase so could easily have done a multi-year deal then. When BT Sport launched it was probably in both parties' interests to announce the deal but not necessarily now.

Liberty Global and BT signed a renegotiated deal which started last August.

From their, Liberty Global, Q2 2015 report:

"In June, we renegotiated our content deal with BT Group plc adding BT Sport Europe to our current offer of BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN, enhancing our comprehensive line-up of sports programming. This new channel has been available to all of our TV XL customers since August 1, 2015. Virgin Media remains the only provider in the U.K. to offer access to all English Premier League and European football content in the home and on the go. Although the addition of this content will increase our total programming costs, we expect to be able to pass on a substantial portion of the cost increase from this enhanced content deal to our subscribers through a recently-announced £3 price increase to our TV XL package that will become effective in September 2015."

And, incidentally, in Q4 2015:

"The trend in TV subscriptions was partially impacted by elevated TV churn following our Q3 TV XL price rise, which was implemented to recoup a portion of our investment in BT Sport Europe."

I have not seen anything to suggest the terms, but it does not sound as though it was a one-year deal to add the extra channels. And it is unlikely Liberty Global would have entered one on such a short-term basis given the knock-on effects on their price plans.

Anyone know why they are not showing Premier Futsal Live as it was on the EPG for 2:15pm.

Indeed - and it's also worth noting that the BT Sport cost base isn't changing that significantly in 2016/17 compared to 2015/16.

BT's PL rights cost rises from £246m to £320m but its CL/EL rights are flat at £299m and most of its other much smaller (though still notable) contracts such as FA Cup and Aviva Premiership are also flat - so no reason for BT to be looking to pass on any significant price rise to VM - so in turn no reason why terms wouldn't have been agreed.

Why BT SPORT ULTRA HD will be called BT SPORT 4K? ULTRA HD sounds much BETTER. They should keep this as it is now.

That may potentially be a small reason, but the main reason is because 4K is the universally recognized name. They'll be people with a 4K TV thinking "what the hell is Ultra HD?! I haven't got that." Currently it's one of the only USPs for BTTV (Until Sky finally roll it out for Q) therefore they need to maximize that as much as possible.

BT now charging me £6 a month for BTS2/Europe on my Sky box. As a previous poster said there has been virtually nothing of any note on the channels over summer.

They advertised Premier Futsal Live as for tommorrow but it has been removed from the EPG and not been shown the today. Will they show it live or show it delayed as usual?

Surprised no one has mentioned this, but @sportcal tweeted earlier that BT Sport has retained UFC.

After looking at the new season and match scheduling it seems that it seems BT Sport are really going to focus on Saturdays now they have the 5.30 PL fixtures pretty much guaranteed for every PL regular weekend round.

In their old lunchtime slot they have scheduled either an SPL or National League game. This is then which followed by a new Soccer Saturday results style programme which Mark Pougatch will anchor. All leading up to their 5.30pm PL match.

I just hope that have a Saturday morning show to replace Fletch and Sav

So are BT going to call it Super Saturday?

I can envision them scheduling FA Cup fixtures on the two Saturday slots too if that's the brand they want to build.

They pretty much always did that, it was called "Match Day Live".

Fletch & Sav > PL > AP > Bundesliga > Serie A. 10am to 10pm.

I'm interested to see where this live score program fits into the schedule as previously they had committed Aviva Premiership to be shown on BT Sport 1.

The live score programme starts at 2.30pm and I'll assume it will finish by 5pm and switch to build up for the 5.30 kick off.

I have a feeling that Saturdays will be pretty much exclusively football for Saturdays on BTS1 with Rugby on BTS2 for the Saturday 3pm fixtures. We'll know on a few weeks.

They no longer have to offer the BT Sport lite packs (where you got BTS1 only) from August as the free Sport with Broadband deal expires so they have more flexiblitty with scheduling.

I imagine you'll see FA Cup, Champions League etc.. featured on BTS1. I can see BTS1 and BTS2 being treated as the flag ship channels with BTS3 (replacing BTS Europe) being for overflow content.

They "no longer have to" in the same way they "never had to" but I'd be surprised if there wasn't a 'lite' option for their broadband customers going forward. It appears to be a long term commitment to their share of the broadband market. By no longer offering a sporting incentive they would be opening those customers back out to being poached by other providers.

FWIW, Dave Meltzer has reported in the Observer newsletter that he believes that BT has retained the UFC rights.

Its looking likely now given this and the sportcal tweet above.

What confuses me is that if the rights remain with the same channel why the announcement is taking so long.

I cant help but feel there may be a twist to be announced on 1 Aug that Sky have it and wont be announced until BT current rights are up.

According to live-footballontv.com, sky are showing Chinese super league next weekend - the two 1230 games on Saturday & Sunday

Nothing really exciting, but the BT Score Logo (along with just a coming soon mention unerneath) appears sometime during the BT Showcase loop.

But I think more people would say "what the hell is 4K", because there's no one connection to HD name. Ultra HD is saying that is something better than HD.

As for new BT Sport's names. Are known logos for these two channels already or not yet?

Anyone interested in 4K will have bought a "4K ready TV" so chances are they will know what the hell 4K is.

So :-
UFC Fight Night
Sat. Aug. 6, 2016
Rodriguez vs Caceres
is being promoted as LIVE on BT Sport

http://uk.ufc.com/schedule/event

so if BT's contract ran out end of July does this confirm now BT have extended the TV rights, or is there a twist in the tail which is why it hasn't yet been officially announced.

Just get on and announce it already...
