Plus, Sky did it for a reason. SS4 was not carried on certain other platforms so they reserved the "best" games for that channel.

BT Sport 2 will also be showing the West Ham home tie next week. It will be the first match at the new stadium.

And by then hopefully the novelty will have worn off and we can stop treating it like it's anything special.

Updated schedules are out on Digiguide and BT Sport Score will be shown 2:30-5pm on BT Sport 1, following Scottish football and leading into the Premier League game.

Something I hadn't seen yet is that the PL coverage will be immediately followed by an hour-long "Premier League Tonight" from 8-9pm which so far just says "A round-up of the day's matches".

Are BT still limited to 60 second highlights on every game except the one they showed live? If so there won't be much content to fill that hour I'd imagine, it would seem to essentially be extended highlights of the game they've just shown immediately before, with a bit of talking.

On a Saturday evening I don't think they can show anything apart from the game they've just broadcast.

Sky have their Football First package from 10ish onwards but BBC's Match of the Day rights are quite heavily protected until midnight I think.

Sky Sports / Twitter will be showing goal clips during the Saturday itself.

Thanks - seems like a strange choice from BT then to debut a new programme which would seem to show highlights of one match which they've only just finished showing live.

And 60 seconds of the Friday night game, the weekends when there has been one.

Quote:
“A round-up of the day's matches”

A round-up.

Nothing mentioned about highlights or action of any sort.

Sky Sports News also do PL round-ups until they can start showing the goals from midnight onward.

I would be quick, however, to pull them up on the possibly misleading programme synopsis they've given Digiguide for BT Sport Score:-

I'm not sure how popular an hour long programme featuring no highlights whatsoever would be, but we'll see I guess.

As for Score, that could be misleading, although they'd likely argue "bringing you the goals" refers to "There's been a goal at ___ let's go to ___ for the details" or something similar.

Pretty much the same as Soccer Saturday (or TalkSport or Radio 5Live). It's not misleading at all.

They can argue that. The argument back is that they are being deliberately misleading.

Reporting on the goals as they happen is infinitely more accurate.

Interesting question. On the face of it I'd agree with you - the Sky Sports News equivalent is ridiculously dry.

But I can imagine a round table with some interesting personalities having a good discussion - would be a good warm up to Match of the Day for those who like that sort of thing.

I may have jumped the gun here. When I posted this it was showing on my TIVO on the TV Guide (Virgin Media) however I've checked today and it's no longer listed.

Not showing on my BT TV EPG. I wonder if ticket sales have been disappointing and West Ham would rather it wasn't live on TV?

A Sunday Supplement style roundtable show talking about that days results, which includes post match interviews could be pretty watchable. The only issue for me is I tend to watch the European football on a Saturday evening.

On the BT Sport App. EPG earlier it was showing a live Europa League tie on Thursday but this is now replaced by a repeat of the Wayne Rooney testimonial.

Game is now sold out - 60,000 capacity.

However looks like no chance of being on BT

Lady Brady @karren_brady
to clarify Juventus is being shown live on TV, 2nd leg of Europa game is not on TV...

How bizarre - Thursday's game is actually worth watching.

Can only think they were worried about a low turnout. But they priced well (£10-£25) and have sold out early. But looking at Brady's tweet there's no chance of negotiation.
Can't imagine BT being happy.

Problem is clubs can do what they want for the qualifiers.......it's only after this stage that the TV contracts kick in.

Perhaps the TV rights to the Juventus game were sold as the first live game from the Olympic stadium - so contractually they couldn't show the Europa league game as it would impact the rights of the Juve game? (Would be a bit of a stupid thing to do, but wouldnt surprise me).

Confirmed that BT Sport 3 and BT Sport 4K.
But weirdly, the licences on the OFCOM site have been changed from: BT Sport Ultra HD - BT Sport 3
BT Sport Europe - BT Sport 4K

I wondered that, but the Juve game is on BT as well so I don't see what the problem would be. I reckon BT just didn't want to pay what West Ham were demanding.
