A little low across BT and Sky. Expected United game to eclipse a million with it being Jose's bow in the PL as United boss and Ars-Liv a little low considering the spectacle and size of teams on show.
I guess we can put this down to the clash with the Olympics which is free to watch on the BBC. - People on holiday - Weather was good - Some subscribers won't have re-added sports yet |

I'd say that's an encouraging start for BT. Last season they opened up with 612k for Man Utd v Spurs in the 12:45 slot. I notice that their programme runs from 17:00 to 20:00, so that's a shorter intro but a longer outro than what they were running last season (I think it was 12:00 to 15:00). But I think in terms of averages it will be much of a muchness.

Does anyone know why BT Sport aren't showing the 60 minute cuts/highlights of all ten Serie A games per match day, can only see five games listed?
Hope this isn't a permanent move as like to see all the goals. |

That's very disapointing because i watch many of those 60 min highlights myself - as for the goals they can be seen in the Serie A review on Tuedays/Wednesdays however compared to BT's excellent 60 round up shows they do for the French and German football top-flights, the feeble 30 min one the Italian league is very poor they dont even use proper footage using obscure nonsensicle camera angles instead that are just a confusing morass of complete and utter incompetance...

I don't think it's BT's fault. Probably more to do with the Italian TV networks and Serie A organisers. For me, the European Football Show on Sunday is the complete package as highlights of all games prior to the big Sunday game are included. Love the opinions of the panellists who know their stuff better than the so called pundits.
Personally I stick to Serie A and the Bundesliga. The French league doesn't click for me. |

I love Italian football but I'm not a fan of the shows produced by Serie A that BT show. Both the preview show and the review. The guy who does the really exaggerated voice overs just gets on my nerves to be honest.

Shame that BT are now editing the UFC reruns and censoring them too!
Watch 2 blokes kick shit out of eachother for 25 minutes but you can't hear a naughty word at 1:30am!!!!!!!! Back to UFC TV! |

BT's appeal against Ofcom for ending the Sky WMO remedy will be heard from October 3rd.
Worth noting that when Sky appealed against the Ofcom ruling, albeit a more involved case, it took the tribunal thirteen months after the hearing to render their decision. |

Even as a Liverpool supporter, watching the game tonight on BT Sport 1, the commentary was dire in terms of its total and obvious bias to Liverpool!
If i were a Leicester fan watching that game, id of been very unhappy with it and alot are on social media! |

Not sure why they stopped showing the score and the time left in the game for the last 10 minutes or so in the Liverpool v Leicester game.

Yesterday's match Liverpool vs Leicester was another BT Sport first, It was the first UHD game with Dolby Atmos sound and it was very impressive as well.
The earlier Rugby union game Leicester vs Wasps was also broadcast as a test using the new HEVC format again another success |

BT Q2 (ie Sept 2016) financials out today - Consumer results look strong on literally every metric - reports of the death of Pay TV sport on other threads may have been somewhat premature (surprise, surprise).
Consumer results (ie phone + broadband + TV): Revenue - up 10.8% vs same quarter in prior year EBITDA - up 22.9% vs same quarter in prior year Comparative helped by fact EBITDA fell in same quarter in prior year due to launch of BT Sport Europe (ie start of CL). However EBITDA is still up 10.5% vs same quarter two years ago (ie PL year 2, no CL). So, as previously noted when looking at previous results, I think the most noteworthy thing is that they've taken on the (considered by many) very substantial CL cost and it's been fully absorbed - with EBITDA today clearly higher than prior to having the CL. BT TV Platform customer growth - up 64k in the quarter. Last 2 years: Sept 2014 - 1,045k Sept 2015 - 1,308k Sept 2016 - 1,684k So up 61% in two years - has to be considered massive growth. Programme rights costs - small increase reflecting new PL contract - up from £163m (in June 2016 quarter) to £177m. Should tick fractionally higher in next quarter when have a full quarter of new PL contract. But big picture is of rights costs then broadly flat until June 2018 - probably increasing by no more than £50m further per year (principally new Aviva in 17/18 and Australian cricket starting this winter - though not sure if that'll be booked straight line or heavily weighted towards Ashes winter). Slides 2 (3/13), 8 (9/13), 10 (11/13): http://www.btplc.com/Sharesandperfor.../q216-KPIs.pdf Slide 16: http://www.btplc.com/Sharesandperfor...216-slides.pdf |

Fantastic analysis as ever. Another good set of results from BT, can only admire the strategic game they've played since taking this route in 2012.

BT Sport (and eir Sport) to show Ireland v New Zealand in Chicago next weekend (7:45 next Saturday on BTS2).
Would appear to be just a single match that both broadcasters have bought the rights for, given Sky still have the rights for Ireland's home friendlies. |

Live on BT Sport schedule
Live on BT Sport
Listings for a few weeks ahead here http://sport.bt.com/live-on-bt-sport-01364117948039 Quite a lot listed through Jan to beginning of Feb`with their CL and EL games after. Thought it was worth posting as I think this way of browsing through their live schedule is new. You can use the filter from All Sports to All Football or the specific competition they show or another sport much like the Watch Sky Sports guide http://www.skysports.com/watch/sport-on-sky |
