Hi Lordloz, I'm not sure about your set-up but I will assume the following:

You have a Sky box without a subscription but with a valid card in it (frequently termed Freesat from Sky)
You also have access to an aerial.
BT is offering you inclusive access to BT Sport's channels if you take their broadband. They are offering it via your existing Sky box or via YouView.
You make your Sky DVD recordings via a SCART socket. YouView has one too.
Here are the advantages/disadvantages of each:

Cost:
Sky will cost you nothing further as you have the equipment
BT YouView will cost you £109 ie 12 x £5pm, 1 x £49 installation fee.

Recording:
Sky will cost you £10.25 to pause or record onto the hard drive if you have no baseTV packages. That's £123 a year so a YouView box will have paid for itself in a year if PVR recording is important.
YouView has no charge.

CatchUp
Sky has BBC iPlayer. If the £10.25 recording fee is being paid, you can also access 4OD, ITV Player and Demand 5. I believe the commercial PSBs have no adverts.
BT YouView has iPlayer, 4OD, ITV Player, Demand 5 and Dave catch-up plus S4C and STV Player in Wales and Scotland respectivley. It also has the Now TV movies subscription service and BT's version has additional PPV services including films and TV series.

Other sports channels:
Sky is the platform of choice for sports channels so if Moto GP moved channels in the future, your Sky equipment should still be able to get the new channel.
BT's YouView just currently has BT Sport and Eurosport.

However, on their official website:

Quote:
“The Premier League is the organising body of the Barclays Premier League with responsibility for the competition, its Rule Book and the centralised broadcast and other commercial rights.”

Probably doesn't matter how it's abbreviated though as long as everyone in the relevant thread(s) recognises it.

That's a big help thanks Andrew, I've ordered band and phone for now and checked can add tv later....Will check box and set up when I get there today.
But to add I have no terrestrial/digital aerial.
I only have dish (I'm in rural Devon and broadband may be slow also)

To add for moto GP though, sky may have sports channel for now but bt have sole rights to broadcast it in 2014 which is the reason I want it...Thanks again.

How we're BT allowed to show a clip of Sky Sports News on the Life's a pitch show last night?

Not sure if this has been mentioned here, but, as expected due to the European draws, Tottenham/Man United moved to 12pm on Sunday 1st December.

Also, Man United/Everton moved to Wednesday, 4th December.

I was surprised to see CFB on ESPN yesterday, not to mention the games on tonight.

Ole Miss vs Vanderbilt was insane.

A shame that a game like that gets buried in the Sunday midday slot.

Rather than a Saturday midday slot?

May get more viewers on the Sunday.

Yes, it's not the best slot. Although, how much worse than the Saturday 12:45 slot it is I'm not quite sure.

Oh no...does that mean that BT will be on air at 10:45 for their 75-minute build-up?

You really know how to spoil my day...

Luckily, I'm going to Cardiff City vs. Everton tomorrow, so I'll only have to endure around half an hour of Mr. Owen.

Big thumbs up to BTsport for filling up their channels with lots of European football. That's all I asked and they've obliged.

Lets hope this weekend next year they fill up on *all* the MotoGP practise sessions.

Well its been practically a month since they launched , im a Sky customer who shant be getting BT broadband any day soon but for my £12 a month ( less than the price of a Mars bar a day ) im happy with them. It WAS niggling to have to subscribe in order to keep ESPN ( which I already had ) but taking into account that part of my Sky bill disappearing and the free unlimited broadband, im actually getting far more than I was getting for less than I was already paying.
Im liking their live European domestic footie coverage,im liking their Scottish, im liking that they do Conference games im liking the late night/early morning WTA when they run it and though I know its ESPN , the American college football started this week . Ive enjoyed the two Dannys show ( in a suspend belief kind of way ) and all in all for a sad sporting anorak insomniac like myself .....yeah its ok . Im sure the price will go up next year but its not as if the price of anything else in the UK wont is it ?....hey ho ....right now, what else could I get for 40 pence a day ?....like I say, not even a Mars bar.

If this was next year no chance of MotoGP practice on Saturday being on BT Sport 1. Next year, it'd probably be:

Fridays - BT Sport 1
Saturdays - BT Sport 2
Sundays - BT Sport 1

BT need to give up and do deal with Sky pronto as their coverage of 'multiroom' via on line of Man City v Hull has been a shambles beyond justification.

The pictures are 25 seconds behind. The sound is over 2 minutes behind and so way behind even the delayed pictures, They tried over and over and over to put it right by jumping the pictures back two minutes in the middle of the action and then seconds later returning to two minutes forward.

This happened DOZENS of times in the first half wrecking any continuity.

Anyone paying for this service should be livid.

We are off to find a stream from some dodgy dealer who knows what they are doing (unlike BT it seems) because frankly after a month to get it right this is a disgrace,

Oh, it's not much worse than the Saturday 12.45pm slot. I think early afternoon is a pretty poor time for football, whatever the day! (The World Cup and Euros are exceptions to this.)

The camera cutaway box is a highly irritating gimmick and the BT Sport logo is too large and needs to be transparent

Same problems as day 1

That's the consequence of having a new broadcaster who are hell-bent on doing things their own way regardless of what the viewers think, want or are used to.

One thing that's occurred to me in this match is that they still haven't found the best way of using Mark Halsey on commentary; they're getting him to comment on virtually every refereeing decision to give him as much airtime as possible but it's tedious because he just agrees with the referee most of the time - and that's not including the general mentions of the referee which are only made to give Halsey something to talk about.

They should just go to him sparingly when there's a really big decision to comment on and if that results in him being underused, well, that's their problem.

I like it though. The in box is better than the whole camera changing and the DOG is fine but I don't have a plasma so dont have to worry about screen burn. But I guess it'd down to own tastes really.

What I don't like though is the ESPN college football re runs. On ESPN America they used to show the reruns with hardly any gaps but for some reason BT wants to put tons of adds in reruns which puts me off watching it a big disappointment and very annoying.

Agree, but then again I think ESPN is doing well for US sport. In fact, if you look at it, Live Sport wise ESPN seems to have the most! BT needed this ESPN channel.

I actually like the in-box thing. How many times have we all shouted at the telly when the director focusses on the player who just did something or someone rolling around on the floor after the sniper struck while the game was still in play and up the other end of the pitch? We don't miss anything at all this way.
I'm more annoyed by the full colour logo in the bottom right of the screen. I understand that they're new and 'establishing their brand' but if you can see the pictures you've already subscribed and unless you're an utter moron you already know what channel you're on. I'm hoping they'll be sensible like Sky and make it barely seeable (is that a word? ) eventually.

These football shows they do are fantastic. Where they show you the history of some of the smaller clubs. Football outposts I think its called
