I think the complaints about the placings are just disguising the fact really it's actually a fairly badly designed scorebar - sticks out rather than blends in to the coverage.

As it stands it looks like this could only happen Sunday 1 December. BT's Sat 30 Nov 12.45pm game Tottenham v Man Utd will move to Sun 1 Dec midday should Tottenham qualify for the Europa League Group Stages.

Consequently, the Sky Sports Hull v Liverpool and Chelsea v Southampton Sunday 1 Dec games then will be moved by 35 mins and 10 mins delays to accomodate this.

Had a quick look and it seems like that is the only time that can happen (as it stands) as Swansea have no BT game (and ditto for Wigan!).

Has anyone got a screenshot of the BT Sport scorebar?

How so? It's pretty much the same as Sky's score bar except smaller and rounded instead of rectangular. If anything it'd be less noticeable if it wasn't in a strange position.

Thanks. That DOG is shocking . Clearly the scorebar and DOG are better at the top, where they usually obscure the crowd, rather than the pitch. The DOG should be more transparent as well. I can see the complaints pouring in if they leave it like that for the opening PL game.

Live Tennis has been shown for the last few minutes on British Eurosport, while BT Sport continues with the chating. I'm now watching on British Eurosport.

They are just using News channel logic I guess. They sometimes join the two logos with an information bar and when they do that, it covers less of the screen area than the Sky/BBC method i.e. it's potentially more efficient.

Definitely shouldn't be opaque though, 40% or 50% would be about right.

Not sure why BT felt the need to rush off before the on court interview.

As for the bottom corner dog I hate it. It's currently covering the host graphics on the CPL coverage.

As for the person from the previous thread who asked if there is an overrun, does the EPG update?, the answer was no.”

That would have been me.

As we know recording the programme after or setting a manual record is the best suggested solution. ESPN (UK) used to get complaints about this from subscribers for overnight events including UFC.

So perhaps an early opportunity to see a repeat of this will be Sunday when the UFC programme slot finishes at 6am - and so will people's Sky+ recordings leaving them without the end if no heed is taken to record the programme after or manual record? At least TopUp TV coverage will no longer have the problem of just having the channel go blank at 6am (as it is in effect blank all the time now).

The live tennis certainly has stopped on British Eurosport and they have been showing a tape of Williams/Sharapova from Miami the last 20 minutes.

On the position of scorebars, between watching rugby league on Sky and the BBC, I really dislike the way the latter has it in the top corner. Bottom corner feels a far more natural place to look and much less obtrusive.

That is assuming that ESPN used the maximum allowed number of minutes. Which may have been true, but I doubt it was of ESPN America with whom the comparison was being drawn.

Although as someone said over on TV Forum I think once BT Sport realise that their DOG is covered up by tickers etc. when "Pictures from BT Sport" are shown on other channels they'll soon move it.

Also don't get the logic in the red/white colouring on the scorebar which has no relation at all to what the teams are wearing, which is now pretty much the universal standard for scorebars. I do think overall though from what I've seen their on screen graphics are pretty poor - basic bordering on bland, and certainly nowhere near as impressive as their studio.

Well presumably with a lot of simulcast US content they'd have had more ad breaks than they are allowed, so would have had to fill some with their own promos etc.

Except ep1987's post was about replays and having to edit them to fit a fixed programme length.

Quality! This looks fantastic rather than the 'MS Paint' rectangles we get with Sky.

I really like all the BT sport graphics and branding.

It all gels quite well. I love the globe graphic that comes on the football and has the team emblems on different bits of the globe.

Ah right, so just a couple of days on there then moved to BT sport 1.

I am enjoying it.

Watching this now, am most impressed by the live in-match interviews with Martin Guptil (fielding) just now!

What next? Premier League interviews with idle goalkeepers or centre halves during matches? Now that really would be game-changing!

The Caribbean Twenty20, which usually ran around January, has been replaced by the Caribbean Premier League.

Over here that tournament was on ESPN one or two years, was covered by British Eurosport another year. The host broadcaster in the Caribbean was ESPN. The new tournament is modelled more on the IPL than on its predecessor.

Sky did it on T20 cricket years ago - it's nothing new.

No. It has only been on BT Sport in the UK not ESPN. The article is erroneous. (it appeared before the rights were announced, but perhaps the BT/ESPN fusion explains it)

Ah OK. Not a normal cricket follower as you've probably guessed. Would add a new dimension to football coverage though if they could find a way (and get the dinosaur authorities to agree).
