With regard to those 2 free weeks, is there anything worth watching during the week?

Their PL game on the 26th is Palace-Arsenal, so hardly a classic but we can't complain if its costing nowt

Just noticed BT have launched a catch up service on their website.

It's confusingly laid out and hardly comprehensive (I think there's about 15 programmes there at the moment, if that) - but it's a start. UFC Primtetime, Beyond the Octagon, BTSP and Spurs v Chelsea were there among others.

They also seem to be expanding their online exclusive live matches, these are the October ones:

FRENCH LIGUE 1
Saturday October 5: Montpellier v Lyon - 1:00pm
Sunday October 27: Bordeaux v Montpellier - 1:00pm

BUNDESLIGA
Sunday October 27: SC Freiburg v SV Hamburg 2:30pm

BRAZILIAN SERIE A
Sunday October 6: Athletico Mineiro v Corinthians - 8:00pm
Sunday October 20: TBC - 8:00pm
Sunday October 27: TBC - 8:00pm

FRENCH TOP 14 RUGBY
Saturday October 5: Toulouse v Paris - 7:40pm
Friday October 25: TBC - 7:45pm

Hopefully both of these will be expanded in the future and it leads to all games being shown for leagues where they have the rights (European leagues etc).

Was much more watchable with the channel graphic in the top-right during the Europa League last night. Is that a UEFA requirement? As it's back down in that god-awful bottom-right position now.

It's time for them to bin off the idea of having the graphics at the bottom now, and they need to fall in line with every respectable broadcaster and put these things at the top.

Mogzboy, you missed the tones of Micheal Owen then?

If you listen to the Wigan Game you must of noticed the vast improvement in co-commentary.

Yes - I noticed that too.

I actually like Gary McAllister doing the co-commentary.

Look, I don't want to sound like I'm picking on MO, as I'm sure he's trying his bets and it's not his fault that BT have put him in this position with no previous co-commentary work. They perhaps should have put him on their 'secondary', for want of a better word, football rights for a season so he could have cut his teeth before going to the PL coverage.

McManaman, Burley, Waddle, would have all been worthy of doing BT's games. I have a lot of time for Craig Burley on co-comms. I know he's not everybody's cup of tea (but who is?), but I actually watched the WC2010 Final on ITV because he was doing it instead of Townsend and it meant that I could avoid Lawro! Sky should actually bin off Niall Quinn in favour of Craig Burley, in my view. I even prefer Michael Owen to Niall Quinn. Praise indeed...

I just don't understand why they would use someone like McAlister and his experience for Scottish coverage but someone as little experience for their main event the prem league?

The difference between the 2 guys was there to be seen last night.

I bet people who are paying £12/month for this are happy?

I'm a little disgruntled I must admit.

Sky do it occasionally too. So did ESPN. It's called giving people a 'taster' in the hope they'll like what they see and decide to subscribe.

Sky do one day or very occasionally a weekend.

BT are doing 12 days in one month. Bit more than a taster.

Why? It's a sensible and legit business move, which is designed to grow the channel, and bring in more money, which should make the channel better for existing subscribers.

If you've only just subscribed for one specific event, which turns out to be in the free period, you might have a point.

I suspect that if BT had got the lunch time match on a Sunday instead of Saturday then their uptake would be greater. HOME fans are usually on their way to a game at 12.45...get back home during the tea time match (ESPN last year).
If your team were playing Saturday, you have all Sunday to watch the box.

Sorry if this has been asked already but my parents have BT Broadband and Freeview. Am I right in thinking that from the end of October they'll be able to watch the BT Sport channels for free once they have activated online?

Maybe you should complain, after all why should you pay when others get this for free?

Helppp, why is this channel locked on my freeview? I did a channel scan.

It's supposed to be free in October, no?

After today's game, I have now watched three games of footy on BT Sport. It will be my last.

From the opening day of the season there have been issues (most highlighted on this forum) from score bars to DOGs, commentary to pundits and now this crazy scrolling bar at the top of the screen.

I've tried to get past all of these things and others but they do ruin my enjoyment of the game.

When compared with the ridiculously high quality of Sky's Monday Night Football show, BT is close on embarrassing.

I even preferred coverage on ESPN and Setanta over BT Sports.

I know most of these issues may be just my opinion but I think they are echoed by many.

At half time today, I jumped on twitter. Searched for "BT Sport". Not one tweet in the previous 30 minutes was positive.

So it seems many people have issues with BT Sport and their coverage and presentation.

What is ultimately disappointing is what seems like the sheer arrogance of BT to ignore what their customers/viewers are saying.

Going back a fair few years, Sky tried starting a football season with a bottom screen score bar. Within a week it had gone, purely because of the uproar from their viewers. And that was in the days before Twitter and social media had even taken hold.

By all means experiment and be creative BT but when you get it wrong, admit it quickly and fix it quicker. This is the only way you will create a loyal following and keep hold of all those subscribers that will no longer get the channels free with your broadband next year.
