Im a freeviewer and have BT Broadband but will have to pay extra on top of my broadband just to have it! they dont seem to cater for people like me, I have broadband therefore I should be able to view it! why should I get another digi box? no wonder I watch free HD streams of it.

Overall the presentation is nice I like it and I feel its a change from what Sky pump out week in week out. Not too sure about the logo being down on the far right of the screen its quite big. Surely a small logo on the left or right would suffice?

If you have BT Broadband, sign into your account and download the BT Sport App. Won't cost you a penny more.

^ same, he's a great pundit and it'd be ridiculous if he's sacked. Having pundits like him is part of what makes BT's European football coverage so good. Should he have done what he did? No, but the overreaction from some expressing "outrage" at it is ridiculous. Hope he was just taken off for the night and will be back next week, serious case of BT going too far with their punishment if he isn't.

Don't get rid of honigstein, he is one of the most competent and knowledgeable of all punters, not just on BT Sports but on any channel. Losing him will be a big blow, especially with Gab Marcotti little seen these days

So can someone please explain to me why Hogenstein lost his job whilst Ginola seemingly only got a slap on the wrist?

Thankfully he didn't, he just tweeted that he'll be back next week.

Was it just media speculation that he was sacked then? please don't say it was down to BT only for them to change their minds.

Ratings in for the first Freeview 'free' weeknight week of BT Sport 1.

hardly worth spending the best part of 1billion pounds on are they. I know people say its early days but it really is striking that unless BT get significant champions league tv rights and better picks next time in the premier league they are really only going to be a much more expensive version of ESPN and Setanta.

Because Sky made an instant profit when they went into the sports rights market.....

Nonetheless the point is a valid one. So far there are few signs that the massive investment by BT is producing any better results than were achieved for less money by ESPN or Setanta. The comparison with Sky isn't exactly the best - Sky were the first subscription sports player so were starting from a different place, and secondly BT may be new but they are the successors to a string of failed predecessors following pretty much the same strategy and with similar content and results.

It is becoming clear BT Sport requires significantly more rights and premium content if they are going to move forward from their present position. If the majority of people with free access to BT Sport channels rarely watch it (as seems to be the case) then very soon it won't even be much of a factor in persuading people to stay with BT for Broadband etc which is allegedly the primary aim.

Totally agree.

For the record, one of my daughters is with BT Broadband and I gave her my laptop, and she downloaded the app, signed in and gave it back to me (no T&Cs broken!!).

So we have access. But apart from two Premier League matches (where we've connected the laptop to the TV), there's been nothing worth the effort to watch.

Just not enough content to warrant a separate sub. CL wouldn't be enough for us either.
