And rightly so.
I hope BT learn from this, but i doubt it somehow

After the main event finished and we were returned to the studio our female host clearly wasn't ready (threw something from the desk to the floor, her iphone?). It depends how you want your sport covered, or if you care, but I have watched plenty of golf on Sky, for example, and not once has Sarah Stirk appeared on camera, apparently not ready, and thrown her phone out of sight.

Not a big thing. And I don't watch UFC (although paradoxically tonight's coverage has got me watching!). To compare, I would accept C5 at 4am doing their 40th MLB broadcast of the season looking like hobbyists for a moment - in any case that was partly their self-aware style. But do BT know what they are, what they are doing, and what their aim is themselves?

The UFC stuff is very strange. I'm assuming it was because it was in Manchester, so BT "made an effort" to have a studio and send presenters to the actual event, when usually they're in other countries so they don't bother and just use the UFC feed.

The UFC feed would have been the better option tonight though, what we actually got just seemed rushed and not very well thought out

Thats what most wanted. The usual UFC feed, not the mess we got tonight.
It was bad. Atleast have your presentation in the arena, ringside, not in a studio in a different city.

Yes, they made a similar hash of things when there was the recent NBA game in Manchester.

Then we had terrible dubbed commentary, when you couldn't actually hear anything in the arena.

BT had better up their game, as tonight was just not really good enough.

If they did feel the need to have their own presenters, then I would okay with Gareth A Davies, and Michael Bisping, as they know their stuff, and were at least ringside.

The others were not really needed at all.

I don't think their rights allow that.

If BT can annoy as many as they have with their football coverage (and they have at times over the last few months), then it's no surprise they'd do it with UFC, which is probably a lot less important to them, so less likely to put in the extra effort needed...

What with the UFC looking to expand into Europe, and having more events over here, I just hope that this is not what we have got to look forward to.

It reminds me a bit of Sky's coverage of the NFL, cutting back to the "Cadle Guy" with his guests in the studio.

Is it really out of all realms of possibility to just keep it with what works, instead of messing around with things?

Agree completely. Leave the show as it is..we don't need UK input. Sky and the NFL, as you say, the same...why they need to have UK studio? But then again... It is not my decision. there is nothing worse than speaking over the US commentators..Sky do it all the time with the NFL.

At the venue it was Caroline de Moraes (who was in London at lunchtime doing the awful pre-match studio stuff for the football).

In the studio (girl in red dress) it was Caroline Pearce.

Quick question.... flicking through my freeview channels and channel 57 is showing rugby. That channel is usually just a BT Sport preview that just shows how you can get it. Is this a free weekend or something?? BT Sport 1 and 2 are locked out its just the preview channel thats showing this with the "BT Sport 1" logo at the bottom right of the screen.

Yep, and here are the details: http://sport.bt.com/watchnow/program...11363841724478

Sky similarly do free days on Pick featuring output from Sky's own paid-for channels.

From Dancc in the Ratings Thread. Fantastic all day share for BT.

Correction - all-day share was actually 1.3%. 16-34 share was the quoted 2.2% above.

What sort of all day share does BTS1 normally get on a Saturday?

The above comment if 2.2% had been correct suggested 2.2% was nearly double the normal figure. That in turn implies that the actual figure of 1.3% is pretty similar to normal - despite it being free to view.

James Richardson's just announced on Sunday Night Football that they'll be showing "the best goals from around the world including Belgium, South Africa, Greece and others" on SNF from this week.

Interested to see whether it'll be a comprehensive goal round up, or more "This was a good goal from Greece, and now this one from Belgium". Depending on how it's handled, it could potentially be a very nice addition.

Has BT got no prem game for week commencing 9th November?

It doesn't seem like it, Digiguide is showing FA Cup and SPL. There are matches taking place that weekend though, so I'm not sure why BT aren't showing one. Maybe there were no matches they were interested in after Sky picked, so they passed for the week, can they do that?

BT has to miss 5 PL weekends - they have 28 games to pick from 33 weekends.

There are 2 PL weekends so far where TV games have been picked which they are missing:

9/10 Nov
28/29 Dec

So they have 3 more PL weekends to miss between January and May.

One of those will surely be the final weekend?
