Why Do BB Care Who Wins?
BillionBets
02-08-2013
This question gets asked a lot on here, and there are numerous reasons, although I don't think "Civilian" BB winners are as important to them.

Most of the producers may not care, but those involved in commissioning at 5, might have plans for more dumb reality shows, like Gina going shopping, or telling people how to dress.

They have kept Hazel safe over the past two weeks, to ensure she comes out to a "somewhat" better reaction. She has kept herself in the background as well and may even survive this week. She will no doubt be a Daily Star "lady" for a good few weeks, helping C5's Desmond flog a few extra copies of his rag.

The even created the whole "Ginxter" thing from the start, bigging up their sudden Week 2 "turnarounds" on BBBOTS, deliberately pairing them for the SH task, and trying to create the illusion of these two "fab" characters against "the rest".

Maybe Channel 5 or some of the producers have designs on projects with these two.

In reality, how many BB winners ended up with their own TV show?

I think it's a more recent thing with 5.

Rylan is now the face of their sister show.

Speidi got a one-off, (with an expected series) although it didn't get the viewers they wanted.

I think this is why they put a few "media-savvy" characters into "Civilian" BB this year.

So the answer to my question is one, and they were from celeb BB.

They would give good characters a spin-off show whether they won or not. Nikki Grahame is a case in point.Conspiracy theories about manipulating the winner are way off,

Exactly. The Hm's who got the most TV work after BB: Jade, Allison Hammond, Jon Tickle, Craig and Nikki. Only Craig was a winner.

They didn't keep Hazel safe. I'm pretty sure at some point they were desperate for her to go and she could've easily been chosen to go in the safehouse. I'm surprised Sam and Sophie were chosen because it made no sense to me.

The producers don't care who wins. They care that the show is entertaining, talked about and maintains good ratings. This series I think it's fair to say that they've achieved all these things.

Ginxter were an obvious pairing to the viewer anyway. They weren't created. The truth is that they are or at least we're the 2 most favoured and entertaining housemates as well as the most talked about. The producers didn't make that happen to them but they may have taken advantage of the situation which wasn't a bad thing IMO. Those 2 in the safehouse was one of the highlights of the series.

I can only think of Craig BB1 who got his own DIY show, which was good.........Alison (who broke the table) did a lot, and was on our screens recently along with Hazel when she left Eastenders......
The HM who got his own fishing programme.....I wasn't keen on him a bit to quiet and brooding for me......

Kate was on telly a lot afterwards......a Channel 4 breakfast programme I think.....

.....apart from those.......I can't remember any more......

Edit.....was it Johnny? can't remember his name...... runner up to Kate......who was on the gas adverts a few years ago.....

Those two were not winners. There have been as many non- winners with a semi-successful TV career as there has been winners.

Some HMs on 5, more on the CBB anyhow, seem to have TV shows lined up on 5 when they're out - such as Amy Childs, Speidi, and it's probably the only reason they go in.

Again, they weren't winners.

There's definitely a case to be made for Josie. The all up vote to evict before the final week was the most bizarre thing I've ever seen on BB. She then went on to present the BB slot on Channel 5's evening show and was featured in Desmond's mags for months, that was no coincidence IMO.

They don't, it's just certain people on this forum who try to claim they do.

well wouldn't they get more income from votes if they kept the more controversial characters in?
if the final was between sophie and sam who would bother voting other than the "he's fit" brigade?

Oh, for goodness sake, the producers don't care who wins or doesn't. They care about a) ratings and b) how much money the viewing public are spending on voting.

Agree. HL shows are edited for these 2 reasons only.

Perhaps it was just coincidence as Josie won the last BB on C4 and Desmond had nothing to do with it!
