Season 74

Not a great start. I'm reasonably confident Skrtel won't get on, but if he does I'm already in a hole. This is definitely a week in which I needed a strong defense.

I was expecting to have conceded more than just the one goal, so, so far, I am not too unhappy with the scoreline.

Who has been credited with the 'Assist' for Newcastle's second goal.?

2 attacking points for Bally already, does he not realise who he's playing?

Must have got the SaS the wrong way round

Woops. I'm watching the game as well. Just think I put it that way round as Suarez did the most work. Fixed.

Nobody I'm afraid.

Going to be a busy 90 minutes with so many top teams playing at 3pm.

Yakutz's team are on fire
Season 74
19-10-2013
Yakutz is going to crush me here. His players just can't stop scoring. If half my team is not going to play at least it is this week. If Aguero and Benteke both start I can still get something from this, but I'd be lucky if they did.

That doesn't just apply to this week. Yakutzenal are averaging 6.57 attack points per week before this match. Highest in the game. He's actually the only person in the game to have scored more attack points than he's conceded in defense points

11 attacking points already and you've still got Nolan and Negredo to come!

Still would currently be getting beat by Bally mind. It'll be a miracle if I get anything out of this.

My thoughts exactly. 12 attack points in 2 hours. This has been a stressful Saturday afternoon.

Glad I'm picking 4 defenders on the bench: Enrique, Jenkinson, Kolorov all not playing, and chances are Rose tomorrow too

Another from Aguero and a couple for Benteke might see you snatch a very unlikely draw

... Kolorov sent on with the Hammers building up a head of steam

Actually I'd take the 1 more from Aguero and none from Benteke/Villa. As I type that though they decide to take him off. Guess it is down to Chadli then. Unfortunately Benteke is more likely to end my chances than boost them, unless he scores 3 exactly.

I nearly posted what I needed before the match started, but it seemed so unlikely I didn't bother. I don't need such a miracle now, although Chadli seems to have left his goalscoring boots in Holland. I'm going to get Schurrle to get them on his way back from getting his own from Germany.

I told Fab he had this coming. He had only had 10 attacking points against him in the first 7 games. The average was 27.

Good to see Eto'o scoring!

Season, I am sorry to be a pain the backside, but can you explain the scoring system as the stats don't match up, in terms of goals conceeded and assits etc in the match screen in my match.

I am looking at the subs bench in particular.

No problem Batdude.

Samuel Eto'o has scored 1 goal (2pts) and 1 assist (1pt) giving you a total of 3 attacking points.

John Terry has conceded 1 (1pt), James Tomkins has conceded 3 (3pts) and Tim Krul has conceded 2 (4pts), giving you a total of 8 defensive points.

Bhavesh has conceded 7 defensive points, which means your score is 3*7 = 21.

If you are looking at Ravel Morrison then his point does not count as he is stuck on the bench. You can only have 1 sub in each position and they only count if your players in your main lineup do not complete 90 minutes. So for instance Ross Barkley has completed 79 minutes, so 11 minutes of Mikel Arteta's points count as he is your first listed sub in midfield.

Subs can be difficult to explain and I imagine difficult to understand, but the key thing is that if you play a 4-3-3 you will get 3 midfielders in your main line up and potentially 1 sub, but nobody elses points will count, which is why people have been saying it isn't necessary to name so many midfielders on your bench.

I think you need to allocate your players and reserves differently, to get the best out of your team's strengths. Assuming you have the same squad for next weeks game, I would pick something along the lines of:

Krul

Bassong
Shaw
Terry
Senderos

Eriksen
Barkley
Morrison
Januzaj
Moses

Eto'o

Stekelenburg
Santon
Tomkins
Olsson
Ward-Prowse
Paulinho
Bent

Just realised Bally has selected 2 Crystal Palace players. He might regret that if they take a hiding tomorrow and he doesn't get a 2nd.
