Having said that the Scottish Parliament is an awful looking building, god only knows what Donald Dewar was thinking when he okayed that!

The money it cost it should look good inside & out!
The desk they have in the reception hall cost £88.000 alone! Absolutely obscene.

Exactly! It's disgraceful..........there was no need to build another building either. There were a good few choices of really old beautiful buildings they could have used too.

That is shocking when so many people are homeless or living in squalor and poverty I was watching Skint last night, showing folks who due to the Bedroom tax had lost their homes and were having to camp out in the woods and skip dive for food

I keep meaning to watch that, I'll get it on catch up. It's a disgrace that the 6th richest country in the world has people forced to live like that! Absolutely appalling, and it's dismissed as the people being feckless & too stupid to organise their life properly. Yet the arses in charge of the country seem to delight in people's suffering while they become millionaires, & steal money from the tax payers & get off with it!

The poor pay more for things too. We’ve thought of moving because of the heating costs of this house and then I watched a programme when there was a woman in a two up/two down terrace that she couldn’t afford to eat and her heating bills were about the same as ours.

Unfortunately that isn't gonna happen any time soon........they seem to have the monopoly, it's either one or the other in power. Look how rattled they are by Nicola Sturgeon who isn't even a candidate dahn sarf! They're all refusing to go into a coalition with the SNP, they would instead join a coalition with each other! They're one & the same party anyway........Scotland will never forgive them for their jumping into bed with the Tories. However they're all so arrogant they really don't care how much suffering they cause the poorer people of society!

Yes of course they do & they tend to have to buy poorer quality food as they can't afford expensive foods, they tend to have a meter for their gas/electricity which is more expensive. It's disgraceful, people like this need to be helped not mocked & denigrated by society! A lot of people have to decide whether to heat or eat.

Morning wee thready.

*pointedly ignores thready*

The odd thing is, an awful lot of folk in England would welcome an SNP coalition with whichever of them gets the majority. THere would be no just letting them do what they wanted then like the "Deputy PM" aka pipsqueak has the last five years! The muzzle would be on well and truly!

It was a bit noisy for him.

It was so good. The concert was faultless, with good sound balance and lighting effects. I had a good seat and a clear few of the stage. And the meal I had beforehand was delicious, and not too large so I didn’t feel uncomfortable. The last two or three gigs I’ve been to have been disappointing for various reasons so it was really good to go to an exceptional one.

Yes.

Last one – Hazel O’Connor and Hugh Cornwell – missed most of Hazel because she was supporting Hugh, restaurant took ages to give us the bill, and Hugh Cornwell was not that good, venue was dreadful, full of farting middle-aged blokes. Before that Seth Lakeman, supported by a pointless female that did the opposite harmonising with Seth and dreadful sound balance. No parking at a Bon Jovi gig (tramworks meant previous parking places no longer existed), poor reviews of gig anyway. Favourite previous gigs where Leonard Cohen in Edinburgh, Chumbawamba at Alnwick, Billy Bragg at the Usher Hall, and Eric Bogle at our local theatre when he sat with me between his sets – Mr G had organised the gig so Eric just sat in Mr G’s seat when he was doing his bit.

… and there was Jakob Dylan – major problem with that – the time went far too quickly.

I've seen Seth Lakeman as a solo artist and he was brilliant!

I’ve seen him do good gigs but the one I saw most recently was a bit rubbish.
