i had a vitrectomy which now means i can see clearly above a certain level but will not have full sight until the gas has cleared - maybe by the weekend. can type by holding keyboard up but that means no caps, i think have been mended. my bp was checked and they concluded i had 'white coat syndrome' - it shoots up when i have an appointment to have it measured. it was normal when they crept up on me to take it. they gave me a general anaesthetic rather than a local because of this, though. all other tests - heart, lungs. diabetes - are fine.

That's good news, creeping up on you is more likely to alarm you, I would have thought!

I have white coat syndrome as well Gemo! They put a 24 hour monitor on me for BP and it was normal cos I was away from the surgery and forgot about what it was for. Apparently a ot of folk react like that to BP tests.

The 24 hour thing is a good tool for them to see how your BP is during a normal day. Mine bore no resemblance at all to the readings done in the surgery. I hate doctors!!!

Doctors are very necessary folks but I like keeping them at arms length ta very much not based on my own experience but my observations of them in some detail treating my poor partner Splint over many years

I will only see the doctor if in extremis
