I think Fusion week was one of the most succesful additions they've made to the show. I loved it!
I think the themes can be usefull. There is a period when you have got to know everybody, your waiting for the less gifted dancers to leave and the contendors to get a skill base, it could be boring around week 4 to week 7.
Just make the themes that have some connection with dancing, films, west end, different countries, history, not halloween.

What I meant was, that theme is a bit vague... I mean we would just have lots of fireworks and music about fireworks and explosions... We might as well not have the theme at all...

Surely 'pick a song from any movie ever made' or 'choose a song that sounds a bit scary-ish' are far vaguer?

How is the theme vague? Fireworks, explosions, sparks, fire, burning, bangs, Guy Fawkes, noise... you could probably shoehorn "Who Let The Dogs Out" into the theme if you really wanted.

I'm looking forward to a Christians v. Lions theme night. We could bring back all the famous old "characters" for feline delectation. If the budget doesn't stretch to the moats and fire-pits I have in mind then for Halloween I will settle for some real undead to feast on Vanessa.
A professional demo each week of a ballroom or latin dance, taking all 10 dances in turn, so that viewers who don't go to dance competitions can see what real dancing is all about.
I dont LIKE it but here's what I THINK will happen
Week 1: Waltz or Cha Cha
Week 2: Probably they will introduce Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Salsa and Jive as they did last year
Week 3: Either Hollywood or Broadway methinks. And you can do whatever dance you want.
Week 4: One unlearned dance.
Week 5: Probably Halloween week, or something else wild and wacky
Week 6+7: One unlearned dance.
Week 8: Blackpool (confirmed)
Week 9: One unlearned dance.
Week 10: I think we will see either a new theme week or the return of the swing-a-thon...
Week 11: Dance Fusion.
Week 12: Two unlearned dances.
Week 13: Judge's choice, showdance, one unlearned dance (depending on number of finalists) and favourite dance.
The only thing I don't like is them dancing many different dances from Week 2 ancd Halloween week

What about they all dance the rumba during Week 1 and get the embarrassment factor out of the way? They can really get to know their partner right off the bat.....

Just a couple of things:
1. Get rid of the dance-off: if a good dancer is unpopular then they should be able to be eliminated. Yes there have been some shocks but as the final decision on who wins is left to the public, then ultimately we should have more of a say than the judges in who gets eliminated.
2. If the fusion is to be kept, then have rules on what dances can or can't be used: last series there were some who had danced both of their fused dances previously (Kimberley, and Lisa I think), others who had done just the one (Dani, Denise and Louis), and one who had 2 completely new dances to learn (Nicky). They need to have a level playing field on this.
3. Props: I wouldn't say to ban them entirely, or just have them for one week, but maybe have a limit on how many times you can use them within a series (I'd go for 3) - as they can help to enhance a routine (Scott's Jive and Louis' Tango come to mind).
