You can have a mortgage at any age... if you have the income. Many pensioners are on a fixed income (pensions etc.) and actually are a better bet than those in jobs that are traditionally transient (such as seasonal work).

I know someone that took out a mortgage in their 70s to release money to pay for a trip to Australia. Interest only - it will be paid off when she dies...

I must say, although I am sceptical this is the main reason he is broke, because we don't know how much he has been paying etc, this story bought a lump to my throat.

He is a lovely man

So Bez is a useless horrible druggie is he?

As I've been saying all along, he's a good bloke.

Hope this puts an end to all the rubbish some forum members have been saying about him.

Bez to win.

There is (quite surprisingly) a lot of support for Bez over there - I thought it would be die hard Kenzie fans

First it wasn't ment that seriously.

Second:

Third: I have seen so many variations of HEAR HEAR

I started to get curious.

Imagine the post being said in a VERY lighthearted, I could have made that comment/ typo too kinda way.

I wouldn't wonder if they say BEER BEER.

I know their are many variations of "hear hear" but if you think about it only "hear here" makes sense. I have seen both written in the Guardian though.

I think the only thing we can agree on is that "here here" is wrong.

From all that he's said his 'broke-ness' predates the end of 2003 and i'm pretty sure that when his official bankruptcy was first mentioned it was reported as having been before that time-frame also?
