Article on DS saying that Chris's contract is up in February and doesn't know yet if Tommy will stay. I like Tommy and would like him to stick around but apart from the larger fan base Chris should of gone back to Hollyoaks,Justin was a million times more interesting than Tommy and in Oaks Chris would be regarded as one of the main faces of the show rather than playing a B type character he does now. I suppose its a bit like a footballer going from Everton and being the star name to joining Man Utd and having to fight for a place in the side amongst everyone else.

Feb is 6 months away. No cast member knows if their contract will be extended. He is in no different a position to anyone else.

Tommy might end up hooking up with Eva before or after Tina goes.

Or Chris could do a James Sutton and go back to 'Oaks.

I wouldn't blame him if he left. Tommy is a dud character.

I'm completely indifferent to Tommy

If he stays - meh
If he goes - meh

Chris is a really good actor, i used to watch Hollyoaks when he was in it.

In Corrie he has proven himself as a competent actor but the character only seems to follow Tina around which is really boring to watch. I hope with Michelle/Tina leaving Tommy will interegrate with other characters and have a chance to prove himself as a long term character.

As others have said Chris was much better in HO.
Tina has been boring ever since they split her up from David.

The problem is that Corrie do not always do male characters very well. They thrive on women characters of all ages.

My own view is that Chris should not go back to Hollyoaks. That would be a retrograde move. Clearly someone is putting out feelers. He must insist on storylines that make him different to just a supplement to Tina. He started off as a bit of a lad and that is where they should take him (there is a gap now because of Sol Heras leaving, and Chris is twice the actor that Heras is).

He should give Corrie more time or else go out and gain experience treading the boards.

It seems like Tommy is a token Duckworth.

He is so underused. Chris deserves more than just being a side character to Tina, he's one of the best male actors on there, he deserves a proper storyline!

Putting characters like fiz in the spotlight just highlights how wasted he is even more

Can't see how he can stay when Tina buggers off, as his storylines just revolve around her.

If he does leave or not get another contract the show will be down another character.

I loved Tommy when he first arrived and was having great banter with Tyrone and Kevin in the garage. He had a sunny and caring disposition and was a loyal and supportive friend to Tyrone. He's a lovely gentle and sensitive guy and has been devoted to Tina.
We just don't see enough of him now.
If they had any wit they would make the most of this strong, silent hero and let him shine.

And jeepers, why would any girl want to look at Peter Barlow's ugly mug when Tommy is right there?

I hope he stays. I know he's been a bit mean in the past, but I believe that he quite rare in soap - he actually cares a lot about people. You can see that with the way he is with Tina and the way he supported Tyrone.

Complete deadwood, one of the worst characters in the show! He should leave when Tina does and go back to hollyoaks Justin was a great character! Would be brilliant seeing him against Claire again

I really like Tommy and Chris Fountain is a great actor. I loved him in Hollyoaks. He's so underused in Corrie though and they need to give him a big storyline at some point. I hope when Tina leaves, he's given a big storyline to himself so we can really see him shine.

Tommy has been wasted, with the right material he could be one of the shows leading men. I like him with Tina but I don't think it would be a big deal if they split and he stuck around. Just give him something to do!
