No Bow Tie- that was Eleven's thing (although I think Troughton wore one too, but that was over 40 years prior).
I don't know why, but I envisage him with an umbrella, much like McCoy's. (minus the stupid question mark handle)

I want him to have that goatee beard he has in some of the pics on google! I could picture his new thinking pose as fiddling with his beard!

As for outfit he comes across to me as someone more serious than Tennant and Smith and Eccleston so something dark and posh. and maybe a monocle?

I'm guessing he had that for his Three Musketeers role so we won't be seeing exactly that.


I do wonder if he will have some facial hair though as that would be one way to distinquish him from his previous roles in the show(s) which some people have said is a problem for them.

I thought the outfit he was wearing could be potentially Doctorish on the Live show.

I want a sharp suit - no frock coat or dandifications.

Doesn't facial hair cause a problem with continuity though? It has to look exactly the same for every single scene in a particular episode.

Tennant had a suit though. He needs something different. I really think he should have a 'big' bold outfit like Pertwee did. I'm not sure how to describe it; something which is a real statement.

I don't think it's his costume. Matt's promo pics outside the TARDIS were nothing like his costume. Infact I'm pretty sure the suit in his promo pic is the same one he wore on the show because the photo was taken just before the show began.

I doubt that's the official costume. There'd be a longer shot in that case.

They'll probably work out his outfit when filming begins for series 8. Presuming he'll still be wearing Smith's costume in the last few seconds of the Christmas special.

i like the duffle coat idea.

although I do like suits i'm not sure they've been 'done' recently.

cloak is dramatic but gets in the way as does a cane or brolly.

jeans are practial but PC first impressions is not jeans, but then who knows?

So maybe jeans, white shirt (ironed) waistcoat and smart trousers with a duffle coat in the cold? maybe replace wasitcoat with black tank top sweater?

He suits a suit, a bowler hat and fancy shoes, maybe shiny polished shoes, no boots, I don't think boots would work somehow.

Not if he's an NHS Doctor. Doctors in the UK can't wear white coats any more.

The standard frock coat would suit his frame. Maybe a big floppy hat, too, a la Tom Baker.
